Lab. SMS ready for audit
A Day of All Smiles

The department’s ASHPA submission was to be audited on the afternoon of 10 No-vember 2011.
And with our laboratory’s SMS ready we waited.
The meeting opened with a presentation by the external
auditor Mr. Lai, on ASHPA and the day’s agenda.
This was followed by a departmental presentation outlining the improvements carried out through out the year.
This was followed by a review of the de-partment’s Safety Management System.
After an auditors’ internal discussion, they gave the department a post-audit briefing.
Giving us a summary of the day’s general findings.

The Senior management, rep-resented by our Research Director, Prof. Kumar was also asked to clarify on our department’s efforts.
The auditors then proceeded to carry out the on-site verifi-cation visiting 2 labs.
The documents were re-viewed with clarification. Everyone helped to answer points that were raised.
