It all started at Spitsbergen in 2007

In 2007 6 timelaps cameras are installed around a small

arctic glacier to follow in “real time” the snow melt

rhythm and understand impact on the glacier mass

balance and hydrological budget

its education in the countries of South

East Asian partners.

TORUS is one of the 120 selected for more than

575 candidatures.

Almost one million euros will be financed by the European Union in the

framework of Erasmus+ Capacity Building

5. Tomorrow… is already today




“… The selection decision is based on the quality of the application, its

relative position in comparison to the other applications submitted and

the budget available. Applications were assessed on a scale from 0 to 100

and were ranked by Region according to merit. In addition, and in line

with the provision of the Programme Guide regarding the definition of the

list of projects recommended for funding, the Evaluation Committee has

also taken into account the results of the consultation with the EU

Delegations in the Partner Countries. Lastly, the selection decision also

took into account the geographical balance within a region in terms of the

number of projects per country (within the limits of the available budget),

the need to ensure that the overall results of the selection guarantees a

sufficient coverage of the priorities of the Action and the respect of the

condition that an applicant organisation cannot receive more than three

grants under this Call.

6. Applied around the Cloud…




Open Data now provides access to updated datadedicated to urban development. The traditional approach of using production data for decision on land management needs to be rethought in the light of these new opportunities and should therefore addressed towards dynamic management of geographic information.

These new opportunities always generate a greater amount of usable data. Big Data tools, like Spark, make it easy to handle this amount unbounded data via conventional datamining algorithms. We group all these issues under the generic name of Cloud Data that has sense only if it is integrated perfectly into a cloud computing environment for efficient processing and reactive application (SaaS application, Restfull services, D3JS library, ...)

All Cloud Data is integrated as a SaaS (Software as a Service).
