If God made something available

I’m going to talk in a moment about the first two questions that were ever asked in

My wife was just telling me that her college professors tried every trick in the book to

break down their belief system, what their parents taught them thinking it was going to

help those kids.

Christian from a Muslim really unless they wore a funny hat. It would be hard to tell a Christian

from a Hindu. It’s hard to tell because everybody lives about the same because they’ve fallen

into this same trap over and over and keep stepping and stepping in it. This is why the whole

world stinks! They don’t understand the first two questions to humans and now these three

Luke 4:1

And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit

into the wilderness,

For 30 years Jesus had been perfect! He

than perfect? You wouldn’t think so, but you can. I’m just trying to inspire you, to trigger a

thought today, that we can be better than perfect. I’ll show you that in just a moment.

Once Jesus received the spirit of God, that’s the moment he became powerful. His first 30 years

he never did a miracle then after that it was one after another. They started cascading, they

numbered them but then they happened so fast nobody could keep up anymore for that

or so that he functioned.

He was in the Jordan with his cousin John and when he came up he had that Holy Spirit. He was

different at that point. He knew he was different. Then that spirit said

without anything, no food, no water, to the wilderness. Wilderness just means no people, just

rocks and animals and a couple of trees. If somebody did that out here in the Rocky Mountains,

it’s not very smart, and they don’t usually last very long unless they are a survivalist of which

there are not many. There are a lot of things that can hurt you.

God had him high-tail it into the wilderness. The Spirit of God led him into the wilderness. This

was so he could begin training himself to understand what he had. I ask you, how much time

you train yourself to understand the Spirit of God that’s in you? Really with most Christians it’s

very little. Us who teach all the time think we know it, but do we practice it? For the most part,

I would say no. There are people who know very little b

who know a lot but apply nothing.

Now Jesus is alone for 40 days, no food, and he’s hungry. It also says he was tempted by wild

animals but not in Luke. But he had this new thing and he had to learn to operate this thi

Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when

they were ended, he afterward hungered.

He walked into this with eyes wide open. Why? Because he had to learn to be the Savior. He

had to prove to himself he could handle temptations and attacks because if you can’t you will

flounder when they hit. He had to be able to help other people which he did and still does.

You see these politicians on TV. They can take some horrific attacks

like nothing happened and keep going. They’ve trained themselves to have thick skin

us don’t have that. They could be narcissists and just don’t care which is that ego thing we

talked about. You can tell when they’re

It’s hard to express one’s self when you’re around somebody who is expressive.

I’m sure there is a lesson in here for us too. Usually the Bible isn’t just for that person in there

Most Christians get talked out of it before they ever start.

Christians. I thank God for them. I like every denomination, every ministry, I’m thankful for

every one of them because at least they’re doing something to move the Christ whether they

wear pointy hats or little soft hats, they have big hair or no hair, I don’t

matter. They are doing something. Paul said “just get Christ preached whether in contention or

not”.

There are Presidential candidates right now and some of them just talk, they shoot their mouth

off and are getting great notoriety

they are getting noticed. This is the old Hollywood way of doing business. Any publicity is good

publicity. One of the richest families on TV all started with just a crazy nasty tape that

somebody put on line and now they are multimillionaires, everybody in that family. Any

publicity is good publicity. Paul knew this; just get it out there, people will hang onto

something, they will get born again, it will stick with some of them.

Luke 4:3-4 3And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be

made bread. 4And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone,

but by every word of God.

I’ll bet Jesus was not afraid at all. He was

away, he had to think up another trick; he already knew for he tried it on every human! It

works.

Jesus answers it quickly with the Word. Notice how it is exactly the same trick he used on Eve.

It’s sort of a weird concept. What if your mom told you that you were the Christ?! I know she

thought of you as the Christ! Your mom thought you were the most special thing ever. But just

think, they told him he was the Christ and he believed it. What will our kid

they believed from what they told them? So many good things you’ve done for them but then

the world throws all kinds of other stuff at them. This is why we don’t end up where we

thought we would when we were young.

The Devil got Eve to question her spirituality but Jesus didn’t question his. He was confident.

Don’t you like it when somebody just shoots straight? They are honest with you. It’s refreshing

sometimes instead of just telling you what you want to hear.

Are you really? Did God really say that?

For us it might be: Can I really do things through Christ which strengtheneth me? Do I really

have all sufficiency in all things? Have I really been healed? Do I really have all

my need met according to His riches in glory? Is that real?
