All the actors names are written in black representing their characters as darker and more evil people.

The characters seem to be in some kind of jail/prison situation creating an enigma to why all these men are being locked up.

The camera angle is level for all the men showing that they all have an equal level of power. This maybe shows a narrative that they were all in a crime together. This goes together with tagline which tells you tells you all 5 of them are criminals.

The shadows are big and exaggerated to represent something dark that they are hiding. Used to foreshadow/foreboding evil.

Black is used throughout the film poster to create a hidden sense of power formality, death, evil and mystery. The white in the poster also contrasts with it to show maybe some of these men do have a good side to them.

The main image is placed in the middle of the poster and is the first thing that the audience sees. The poster is laid out in portrait shape and the pictures and typography are spaced out so they are clear to read.

Your attention is instantly drawn to the man in centre of the image. A symmetrical Balance is used with two men either side of him so your attention is instantly drawn towards him. He is most likely the main protagonist however he has many features of a villain. With his long black coat and trouser it creates an evil image. The bright red shirt also stands out and draws your attention which could symbolize his violence. I think this actor was also chosen for his height as he is the tallest one there which shows him power and dominance over the other characters.

Shadows are used in both poster to represent something dark that they are hiding. Used to foreshadow/foreboding evil.

A group of male characters is featured in both poster. However in Reservoir Dogs they all have matching suits to show more togetherness and maybe when they commit a crime they are in it together. The dark suits are also used represent evil and their they have.Different shot types are used these two poster. The long shot used in the usual suspects helps to give you a better picture of all the characters. A high angle shot is used in Reservoir Dogs to show the man may be weak and they are not all equal.
