ATTENDING SERVICES
We are still limited as to the number of parishioners that we can have seated in the church due to govern-ment protocols. It was decided that we will accom-modate the appropriate number of parishioners in the church, as well as the choir loft. When we reach maximum capacity in the church, we will begin to seat people in the Community Center. The Commu-nity Center will be equipped with a mounted large screen television that will be utilized to livestream the liturgy.
HOLY COMMUNION Holy Communion will now be offered at the appro-
priate time of the Divine Liturgy
SERVICE OF PARAKLESIS
The word “paraklesis” has two different mean-ings: the first is “Consolation,” from which the Ho-ly Spirit is called the “Paraclete,” or “Counselor”, the second is “supplication” or “petition.”
We will be celebrating this service during the two weeks prior to the Feast of the Dormition. Please bring to these services the names of the living that you would like prayers offered for.

FEAST OF THE
TRANSFIGURATION
In Orthodox tradition the fruit of the first harvest, par-ticularly grapes, are brought to the church and blessed on the Feast of the Transfiguration and then distrib-uted amongst the parishioners. Grapes are brought to church because they are di-rectly related to the Eucharistic sacrament; that is why in the prayer for consecration of grapes the priest says, "Bless, Lord, this new fruit of vine which reached ripeness because You kindly provided good weather, drops of rain and stillness. Let eating this fruit of vine make us joyful. And give us the honor of offer-ing this fruit to Thee, as the gift of purging of sins, altogether with the Holy Body of Thy Christ." All parishioners are invited to bring fruits and vege-tables from their gardens to be blessed at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy on August 6th.

The Paraklesis is a service of supplication and prayer. We believe that the Virgin Mary sits in the first pew leading us in our prayers to her Son. Her whole life and purpose is simply to bring us to Him. Thus, the Theotokos, having experienced all the difficulties of earthly life, sees every tear, hears every groan of mankind. Especially near to her are all those who strive to live a God-pleasing life. The service of Paraklesis expresses the troubles of the soul sur-rounded by Sin, and asks for help in being re-stored both physically and spiritually to original health and beauty.
