It wasnt until last year when Hal-loween became the clubs favorite holiday. A whole month with only Hal-loween themes, and bats, pumpkins and ghosts flying and floating around the meeting room, felt a tad bit over whelming since with every meeting during the month of October, a scary story; perhaps a true one, would be told to the club which would result to pale while faces drained with blood.

Another milestone for YAT has been carved. Our Titanium Jubilee meeting was a success!

The members all gathered together and decorated the meeting room like a fam-ily preparing for Christmas Day.

We were very fortunate to have two cakes to celebrate this 100th meeting. One that was brought by one of our members; TM Aziz, and the other was gifted to us by one of our best-club-friends; Bahrain Elite Speakers Toast-masters (BEST). • Officers Updates

YAT is continuing its rise to greatness with the procurement of a new venue, and an hopeful budget. Our numbers are steady, if not increasing, and we look to giving the club matching expenditure and savings to reflect our new era.

Let us concentrate on our members, our family, as they are the source of all things for YAT. The quality, the life and the funds. All I ask as treasurer, is your support and dedica-tion to see us through the year!

It sure has been quite a busy adventure be-ing a VPPR. Juggling each social media sight at the same time is quite a hefty role to take, but I feel as if its all going well. Though of course the only social media platform that is handled by the past-VPPR, TM Najla, and not by me, is Youtube.

    My report is as follows:

Facebook, Instagram, and our Website have are continuesly been updated every end of a meeting with photos. Check our website for updates www.youn-gadulttm.wix.com/yatbh

Twitter is being regularly updated with live tweets during a YAT meeting and sometimes during a visit to a different club or other toastmaster events.

Youtube, the only section of social media that is not run by me. It is run by our past VPPR, Najla Qamber. With her help we have uploaded over 30 videos on youtube since the term started.

Newsletter, this is our second newsletter.

Hello fellow YAT members! My secretary roles is to take down minutes of meeting, regular meetings and excom meetings and to keep a record of each members Toast-master of the year points. I can say that this is a privilege, an opportunity for me to learn and practice my communications, or-ganisation and leadership skills. I have kept my records up to date and every minutes is noted. I will continue to fulfil my duties and continue to learn. Lets all continue to learn and inspire one another.

Well... it was fun while it lasted... I did have a splendid time as part of the excom, now I have to give this chance to toastmaster Aziz, I hope he does a better job and I hope you all help him to be a better part of the Excom. but, then again, Ive had my moments with everyone, I laughed with them, I ate, sang and even became a family with them, so, I end my report by saying this.... I love you all

Three cheers for that! Hip hip horray x3. Our next newsletters will be due on March and finally on June. Educational Videos. The script is still in process, but so far I have drafted How to be Timer, Grammarian & Ah-counter. Soon, with the final proof reading session, well begin the casting. :)

As vice president membership , very happy that we have new members each month .we are safe to say that as today has got 29 active members, with new members Noor and Razan we have achieved 1 more DCP points .but Im so sad that yat will lose 4 members soon .

to end my report , I really need to all mem-bers help me to find new members to have at least 30 members in end of the term.

It has been five months since the new term has started, and we are quickly approaching

    x--x--x

the Club level competitions. Since our start, YAT has already achieved several District awards in Education and Membership, and are looking forward to continuing our rising momentum. Though we have faced adver-sity in many aspects, including changes in our executive roster, the club can and will pull through as a family and retain YATs quality for excellence!

We have more and more visits to our club, and with our Social Networking at its all time high, the club has promoted itself in an extraordinary manner that builds on our club image and core values. The overall club performance is fair, with members learning and focusing in its educational aspect that helps the club focus on developing core communicators and leaders.

The Executive Committee meetings (six so far) are prompt and exceptional, leaving our officers excited to keep innovating to better the club. With the clubs help, we believe that this term would be one to remember!

Toastmasters International is an amaz-ing medium for everyone all over the world. They dont only learn to speak but to lead, inspire and just to be confident in oneself wherever they may be.

Im my four years in Toastmasters, it has been many things to me. It has been a class, where I make friends and learn. It has been a family, where I am guided then I learn to guide. It has been my sanctuary, where it breaks from my usual life routine and teaches me that life can be spontaneous. You can tell Toastmasters has impacted my life in various different ways. Coming away from the poetic sense of how Toastmasters has impacted my life, Ill explain how it can impact anyones life generally.

Ill start off with, the obvious.

You become confident. The title and prestige of being a Toastmaster itself gives a person confidence to speak in any forum. For example, I was once put on the spot to speak about a company in class that was completely made up. I was seriously nervous but all I did was think, Naj, youre a Toastmaster. You can do this. And I did, not flawlessly. But I did manage to say something.

Impact of Toastmasters in my Life

    by TM Najla Qamber

Ever since I joined toastmasters, I have seen some of the great speakers ever. If you want to talk inspirational and

My Toastmaster Heroby TM Maram Al Aradi

Its competition time and the only thing thats bothering me is no, its not my speech its the fact that I havent written it yet. Its definitely one of the most common toastmaster crises any toastmaster can have.

The things I hear, here and there, around this side Bahrain of the toastmaster community, is that about 40% of the toastmasters who take part in contests, write their speeches merely weeks before the competition. OR, to make it much more relatable, if a speaker were to do a project speech (CC), most toastmasters would write their speeches mere hours before theyre announced on stage.

This phenomenon puts me in awe. The ability to think on their feet and write an entire speech, memorize, and rehearse within a couple of hours sounds pretty exhausting 1-2 minutes of a table topics speech isnt enough practice. Why they do this to themselves is a question I ask myself every time I hear this exact same scenario.

I am unfortunately not apart of that 40% of toastmasters who write their speeches just a few hours before theyre meant to be on stage. I am apart of that 60% who panic and tries to write their speeches a month before so that enough time can fold around the rehearsals and total preparation. But alas, my speech is only half writ-ten, the theme is all over the place, there is absolutely no humor, and the competitions are closing in, hence, a toastmaster crisis.

motivational, YAT has it all. Whether it brings you to tears or makes you jump for joy. In my opinion, this individual toastmaster has stood out among other toastmasters the most. She captures your attention as soon as she starts speaking and thats not the only thing shes capable of doing.

I have known this toastmaster of almost two years now and she hasnt stopped disappointing me with her speeches or evaluations. Shes strong, confident, independent, motivational and truly inspiring. She is the first toastmaster that inspired me with her speeches and her personal life. She is TM Najla Qamber.

Anyone whove seen the way she delivers her speech with such emo-tion, confidence and determination to reach out to the audience and connect with them, would agree with me. She might look tiny, girly and harmless but dont let that fool you. She can be fierce, tough and strong whether it was about delivering her speeches or fighting off demon apocalypse to save the world. The one speech that made me realize what a magnificent speaker she is is the one that she spoke about all the hardships she had to face when she was a young girl.

To be able to deliver such a strong, emotional and personal speech with extraordinary confidence and deter-mination to prove that racism on its different levels is harmful. On top of that, she proved that having a rough beginning as a child didnt stop her from achieving her dreams. She is a book worm with a major successful designing company for books. She was once the president of YAT and man-aged to lift the club to a high level of organization and recognition. She was young at that time, but never failed to step up and become an inspirational leader. Watching her lead the club to its first initial steps of glory made me realize all the potentials I have in me. She made me believe in myself more, be more confident and strong as she always cheered for me and encour-aged me in my toastmasters journey. Watching her deliver her speeches, the

Competent Communicator speeches and the presidential addresses, made me grow into the toastmaster I am right now. She saw the potential in me and helped me by feeding it with con-structive criticism. She made me grow technically and spiritually in ways I couldnt accomplish on my own.

I know that TM Najla will continue to motivate and inspire everyone that comes across her path and will keep on leading her life until it achieves a huge success. Therefore, I only wish for the other toastmasters especially the new members to find their own hero as I have found my toastmaster hero.

Name the YATsterYou become skilled in leading and communicating. The training of a Toastmaster in both the leader-ship and communication track, has given us the skills to do presentations, pitches, brainstorm, sell, and lead at work, in school and sometimes at social gatherings where we are put on the spot to give out toasts. And it also looks amazing on your resume when applying for a new job.

You connect. Sometimes, when you have to move from one country to an-other for work. You are left to start all over again as you dont know anyone. So, instead of going to bars, parties or malls to meet new people and con-nect. People join Toastmasters and here we meet the best kind of people.

You achieve. I have never won any-thing in my life and the only time I did was through Toastmasters. Through this medium you can achieve and feel accomplished as you earn the Best TableTopics or Best Speaker Ribbon. And when you keep going you win, trophies in contests and then earn appreciation plaques for serving as an officer.

Toastmasters has many positive impacts in ones life, but has anyone thought of the negative factors? Here is one point that Ive experienced.

It becomes addictive. I set a goal for myself when I started Toastmasters and that was to become a DTM. And in the process, I had to become an officer in different levels of Toastmastering and I continued to do so every year. At one point, I was so enthralled in this medium that I took up 3 officer roles just because I could. Toastmasters can be addictive.

In conclusion, Toastmasters has many positive impacts in life: It can give you confidence, teach you speaking and leading skills, and it gives you the op-portunity to connect and achieve. But it can get addictive.

FROM THE PRESIDENTIAL DESK OF YAT THE VOX ISSUE NO. 08 TEAM

ometimes, life does its thing, and flips our lives upside down,

it be nice, to express your worry, your sorrow, your pain, your happiness, in YATs platform to share with like minded members like yourself?

We are the Young Adult Toastmasters Club, emphasizing on Young Adult, where angst is a part of life. Angst, mostly driven by family, education, love and our budding careers. Our club, our family, is ideal for expression, with the majority of our members within the YA age group, being able to relate, console, celebrate, or support.

Most of us, and myself included, sometimes prefer using Social Media to express ourselves, and why not, we are part of the Millennial or Y Generation, where we have social media integrated into our very substance and sometimes, thats great to help us keep interconnected with the world. But your actual voice needs to be heard, your hearts message needs to be heard, YOU need to be heard.

YAT has always been about its members, supporting them with whatever they go through, understanding that they have life to deal with too. YAT will always be there to learn and improve our talents, but most importantly, to welcome those who wish to spend two hours of their lives, twice a month, in an environment that supports who they are as Young Adults. YAT has a duty to showcase young voices, to action young dreams, and to reflect on achievements and failures of our past to better ourselves. So rally together Young Adults, Let us Talk, Lead and Inspire!

    Nasreen QamberPresident Young Adult Toastmasters2014 - 2015

Scausing most of us to panic and sacrifice one of the many things that could make us happier. Sometimes, without people like you around you, you would feel lost, and unsure of the right path to take.

Wouldnt it be nice to put your venting in a speech and have the club evaluate you on it? Wouldnt
