Housekeeping
Housekeeping
Can’t say it too much-If it’s clean they usually keep walking
You can’t make a first impression twice! If it’s not clean-What do you think? There is usually an excuse not a reason
it’s not clean- The audit tem will ask questions and the employees will answer
It may become a 90 day item or a recommendation on the audit report
Presentations
Mid Day Presentations
Usually by team members not management Don’t need testimonials-better to supply facts not
opinions Keep to 10 min and provide handouts to team
members Don’t turn the lights too low and/or the heat too
high! You may loose them Make sure the teams are staffed with a number
of different members. Not same team different name.
Safety for audit team members
Remember they are guests. They are not usually familiar with your site/process.
Watch them! They can wander off. Make sure they have the proper PPE. It’s
embarrassing to have a audit team member wearing the improper PPE after they get out into the facility.
Have a plan if there are PSM areas, security issues and/or lack of access to certain areas
PPE Condition/Usage by employees
Make sure they wear it! Wear/store/inspect it properly Know why they have to wear it Know about chemical/physical hazards in
their area
These are extreme examples but don’t get lax.
Contractors Too!
Allow Time for Auditor’s Q & A During the Tour
The WWWHW (Who, What, When, How & Why) Is the condition Industry Specific? Is there a know standard? Are there letters of interpretation? Get answers ASAP. Take Pictures! Don’t be afraid of a “shout out” to outside
experts, This may be an area near and dear for the team
member. You just may learn something.
