Permission for medical TreaTmenTUpon registering for any Community Recreation program or activity, it is assumed that in the case of a parent’s or guardian’s absence or unavailability, The W staff is authorized to arrange whatever medical treatment is considered necessary for the minor child enrolled in the activity.

It’s that time of year again in Iowa we all love…spring! With the bulk of the snow behind us, hopefully, we all look forward to getting out of the house and becoming more active again. We here at The W look forward to this time of year as well. This brochure includes details of the many programs available to youth and adults of all ages, interests, and abilities. Whether it’s a kids’ program like Fun in the Sun, starting your child in swimming lessons, or getting involved in a group fitness class, now is a great time to get moving. One feature at The W is that even on days when the weather may not allow us to be outside, we will simply move programs indoors rather than cancel. Last year, we were able to move programs such as tennis, soccer, minor league baseball, and Tee Ball inside on days when the weather was bad. There really is a place for everyone at The W.

Although many youth in our community are involved in AAU and similar programs, we believe it is important to offer activities at the recreational level, allowing children of all abilities and income levels to participate in fun, safe, and educational programs. Read about a wide range of opportunities for both children and adults on the following pages. Sign up for a program you enjoyed last year or try something totally new that sparks your interest.

Registration is easy. Simply go to www.the-w.org/rec.html and register online or fill out the registration page in this brochure and drop it off at The W. If you have any questions or need help registering, please call us at 319-352-8716.

We also welcome your questions and suggestions for new programs. Email us at [email protected] or call 319-352-8738. We are excited to offer all of the outstanding opportunities outlined in the following pages, and we look forward to seeing you and your family around the facility as you participate in our programs. If you’ve never been to The W, we’d love to have you stop by and take a tour of all this place has to offer. There is a place for everyone at The W!

Hope to see you soon…

Sincerely,Doug FrazellAssistant Director for Community Recreation 319-352-8738
