ACTIVE PHASED ARRAY RADAR• Largest number of simultaneous ESSM & SM-2 engagements• Unrivalled horizon search detection performance against sea skimming targets• Graceful degradation due to modular architecture and redundancy

APAR is the world’s rst naval AESA radar providing a hemispheric coverage out to 150 km. This system is capable of searching, tracking and supporting many ESSM and SM-2 engagements simultaneously, using the ICWI guidance mode. Any type of AAW engagement, including super-sonic high-divers, super-sonic sea skimmers and stealth targets is supported. APAR has proven its system performance in more than 40 live rings!

Largest number of simultaneous ESSM & SM-2 engagementsBy the innovative ICWI guidance mode, APAR simultaneously supports many AAW and ASuW engagements, creating unsurpassed re power to protect the own ship and a eet unit from saturation and swarming attacks.

Unrivalled horizon search detection performance against sea skimming targetsAPAR’s search function detects very small targets at the horizon, also in a littoral environment. Due to a short time between initial detection and re control quality track, APAR creates maximumbattle space against sea skimming missiles.

Graceful degradation due to modular architecture and redundancyAPAR uses four independent antenna units, each housing thousands of active T/R-elements to obtain 360°coverage in azimuth. Each antenna unit with associated equipment transmits, receives and processes radar signals independently. Due to this modular solid state design, APAR offers high availability and ‘graceful degradation’ without single points of failure.

Main Features• Automatic and simultaneous performance of search, track and weapon control tasks • Integrated search and track for high accuracy and short reaction time• X-band technology with very large bandwidth for low elevation detection and to counter multipath effects• Adaptive processing for optimal waveform selection• High robustness in cluttered environments due to high resolution Doppler processing• High robustness against jamming, using innovative ECCM• Status:9 systems in service; 1 system to be commissioned
