It's back! TYCs Splendid Spring Drama Program now in its 9th Year. Designed, Created and delivered by our qualified drama educators and professional theatre practioners. Participating in TYCs action packed Winter Drama Programs are lots of fun and sees participants make lots of new friends while also developing their acting techniques, self-confidence, problem solving abilities, communication and presentation skills, as well as their fostering their individual creativity and performance resume. Children and Young People from across the region can decide to either select one of our 4-day Drama School Programs or our Drama Day Bonanza Session (recommended ages 5yrs – 12yrs).

4-DAY DRAMA SCHOOL PROGRAM ONE OUTLINE: DECEMBER ENCHANTED ESCAPADES: TALES OF SHERWOOD FOREST… WITH SPECIAL LOCAL GUEST COSTUME ARTIST YASMIN LANCINI (VOCAL COACH) Quick! Look over there in the trees – what is it? Oh no… not forest bandits!! You never know who you’ll find deep in Sherwood Forest. The King and Queen are on high alert as the land of “Knottinghamm” is under attack by ferocious bandits and the dreaded Barron Of Bottomly! The crown jewels have been stolen, but even worse – so has all of the lands’ supply of chocolate. We need a hero – will that be you? The gallant Robin Hood is called into action, but is nowhere to be seen. Whatever will we do? Calling all heroes hiding in the trees – this is the week for you! Can you help defend Sherwood Forest, or is the land doomed to be overrun by nasty bandits? Sneak through the trees, masquerade as royalty, grab your bow and arrow and aim high, use all of your cunning to trap the bad guys and save the day! Do you copy?” The year is 3017 and the Galaxy is once again under attack by the forces of the dark side! This is the first time in 500 years that we’ve been invaded! We need the galaxy’s best if we have any hope of surviving! Test your alien dialect, hit intergalactic space speeds as you zoom through the nebula, search through the stars, negotiate with nanobots and light up the skies with your lightsabers in this intergalactic adventure you won’t soon forget! WITH SPECIAL LOCAL GUEST ARTIST HAYLEY GILLESPIE (COSTUME DESIGN) AND YASMIN LANCINI (VOCAL COACH) “Deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa-la-la-la-la, la, la, la – whuh?! The countdown is on and the jolly man is on his way… But something is not right! Where are all the presents? We can’t possible have Christmas without presents! The last time this happened that green guy gave them back – plus, he lives in the Bahamas now! So what has happened? Sabotage! Someone has stuck Christmas candies to everything in a sickly, sticky web or sugar! The sorting machine is sick, the naughty and nice list is no more, the elves are AWOL and Rudolph’s done a runner! ! Who could possibly have done this? And where are those strange footprints leading… With the countdown on and so much to do it looks almost impossible! WE NEED YOUR HELP! During our 4-Day Drama School program students develop the essentials of stage performance through improvisation, role-play and characterization activities. Come one, come all for the Annual Crowing Ceremony! Do you have royal blood running through your veins? Does a crown fit perfectly on your head? Can you squeeze your foot into the glass slipper? Then this is the competition you’ve been waiting for! This kingdom needs a new face to reign over the land but we’ve run out of the traditional royals. Cinderella’s gone into house cleaning, Sleeping Beauty fell back asleep, and Prince Charming is doing toothpaste commercials now! It is time for a new face! Yours! Join the land of Far Far Away and battle it out for the ultimate prize: the crowing glory of the land! You’ve heard of surfing the waves, now get ready to surf the universe in 2018! Upgrade your boring old surf board to an intergalactic wave shredder! The year is 3018 and we have beaches in space. It’s time for the Annual Surf Universe Wipeout Contest and you’re invited! This is no regular surf contest – in space, there are new rules!
