u  Favorite  memory  of  the  old  house:  One  of  my  fondest  memories  of  living  at  130  E  High  was  sidng  out  on  the  balcony  on  a  warm  night  and  listening  to  the  buzz  on  High  Street.  

u  What  130  E  High  means  to  me:  To  me,  130  E  High  shows  how  far  our  fraternity  has  come.  I'm  not  sure  any  other  group  of  guys  would  be  able  to  bounce  back  and  overcome  these  past  few  years  the  way  we  have.  

u  What  Being  a  Miami  FIJI  means  to  me:  I  think  it  is  very  hard  to  describe  what  a  Miami  FIJI  is.  Our  group  of  guys  is  the  most  eclecWc  groups  at  Miami.  We  all  come  from  different  backgrounds  from  all  over  the  U.S.  There  is  no  cookie  cuger  Miami  FIJI  and  that  is  why  I'm  proud  to  be.

u  What  being  a  Miami  FIJI  means  to  me:  The  support  I  have  received  from  being  a  Miami  FIJI  is  overwhelming.  The  fraternity  has  donated  over  $1,000  to  the  Leukemia  foundaWon  in  support  of  my  Mom  who  balled  with  ALL  (Acute  LymphoblasWc  Leukemia).  I  am  forever  in  debt  and  grateful  to  Miami  FIJI  and  brothers  with  whom  I  share  an  unbreakable  bond

u  What  130  E  High  Means  to  Me:  130  E  High  to  me  is  a  symbol  of  the  bond  we  all  share  in  brotherhood.    It  was  the  place  where  I  decided  to  join  FIJI,  made  countless  memories  and  formed  some  of  the  strongest  friendships  I  will  ever  have.

u  What  being  a  Miami  FIJI  means  to  me:  To  me,  being  a  FIJI  means  represenWng  the  Phi  Gam  brand  in  the  most  posiWve  and  beneficial  way  possible  whether  in  or  outside  of  the  classroom

u  Campus  AcWviWes:  I  serve  as  an  integral  member  on  the  Interfraternity  Council  and  parWcipate  in  the  Miami  Asset  Management  Club.    

u  FIJI  AcWviWes:  Throughout  my  Wme  as  a  FIJI  I  have  maintained  acWve  parWcipaWon  in  many  of  the  chapter's  operaWons.  These  include  compleWon  of  the  Community  Advancement  Program  (CAP),  Monday  Night  Flag  Football  Philanthropy,  Greek  Week,  intramural  soccer  and  hockey,  canned  food  drives  and  Mom's  weekend  silent  aucWons  among  others.    

u  FIJI  Offices:  I  just  recently  finished  my  term  as  chapter  President  and  was  the  Treasurer  prior  to  that  

u  Favorite  memory  of  the  old  house:  My  favorite  memory  of  130  E.  High  was  the  day  I  was  iniWated.  It  was  at  that  point  I  knew  I  had  found  my  home  at  Miami  University  and  was  able  to  idenWfy  with  the  group  of  brothers  who  would  act  as  my  support  network  in  college  and  the  future.    

u  What  130  E  High  means  to  me:  130  E.  High  represents  the  proud  tradiWon  that  FIJI  is  at  Miami  University;  the  rebuild  symbolizes  a  new  era  for  the  undergraduate  as  well  as  our  alumni.    

u  What  being  a  Miami  FiJI  means  to  me:  Being  a  Miami  FIJI  means  conWnually  "pressing  on"  to  advance  the  chapter,  your  brothers  and  yourself  and  to  be  a  part  of  something  bigger,  making  a  lasWng  impact  in  Oxford,  Ohio.  

Timothy  Porter  u  Hometown:  Chagrin  Falls,  OH  u  Class:  Senior  u  GPA:  3.05  u  Major:  AccounWng  and  Business  AnalyWcs  u  Target  Career:  AccounWng  u  Academic  Honors:  SAS  Data  Mining  CerWficaWon  u  Internship  Experience:  I  was  an  accounWng  intern  with  Snavely  Building  Company  in  Chagrin  falls  in  the  

summer  of  2013,  followed  by  an  internship  with  Koda  Minod  CPAs  in  Cleveland  this  past  summer.  u  Oxford  Community  AcWviWes:  I  have  parWcipated  in  the  Oxford  Community  Clean  up  the  past  three  years.    

Every  fall  the  community  comes  together  on  a  Saturday  to  rake  leaves  and  pick  up  trash  around  the  uptown  area.    I  have  found  it  to  be  a  rewarding  way  to  get  some  fresh  air,  help  the  community  and  meet  new  people.  

u  Oxford  Community  Offices:  I  have  been  a  member  of  the  MUVolunteers  Community  Engagement  for  three  years  now.  This  is  a  good  way  to  get  other  Fiji  brothers  involved  in  the  community  and  help  them  get  service  hours.    

u  Campus  AcWviWes:  My  sophomore  year  a  fellow  brother  and  I  started  a  club  called  Miami  Mudders.  It  was  a  club  that  trained  together  for  the  Mainsfield  Tough  Mudder  in  May  

u  FIJI  AcWviWes:  I  have  been  to  a  vast  amount  of  Thursday  evening  speakers  for  the  CAP  requirements.    The  One  that  sWcks  out  the  most  was  a  woman  who  came  to  speak  about  sexual  assault  in  2012.    She  was  elderly  and  she  came  to  speak  about  her  daughters  experience.    You  could  have  imagined  how  emoWonal  it  was  for  her  to  speak  about  her  daughter  being  raped  and  commidng  suicide  over  Thanksgiving  break  aaer  her  freshmen  year  of  college.    

u  FIJI  Offices:  I  was  the  Philanthropy  chair  my  sophomore  year  in  the  fraternity.  I  helped  organize  the  Monday  Night  Football  flag  football  tournament  we  now  host  each  spring.    This  past  year  was  the  most  compeWWve.    I  also  helped  establish  the  Fiji  and  Kappa  dog  night.    In  this  event  we  rented  a  dunk  tank  and  brought  a  grill  to  the  end  of  slant  walk.    We  grilled  hotdogs  from  5pm  unWl  3am  and  sold  them  for  a  dollar.    we  also  encouraged  bypassers  to  toss  a  soaball  at  the  target  and  dunk  the  person  on  the  plarorm  in  the  dunk  tank.    Thank  God  we  lived  right  across  the  street.    The  night  we  did  the  event  had  a  high  of  36  degrees.    once  you  got  dunked  you  could  run  across  the  street  and  warm  up  in  the  house  at  130  E  High.    

u  Favorite  memory  of  the  old  house:  My  favorite  memory  at  130  E  High  was  the  house  decoraWng  compeWWon  for  homecoming  2012.    A  brother  and  I  spent  around  three  days  decoraWng  the  front  of  130  in  red  streamers,  balloons,  and  a  big  sheet  sign.    The  house  was  in  a  great  locaWon  as  the  homecoming  parade  ended  on  High  Street  and  we  were  the  last  fraternity  house  they  saw.    

u  What  130  E  High  means  to  me:  130  is  home  to  me.    It  is  where  some  of  the  best  days  of  my  life  were  spent  and  where  I  became  brothers  with  the  gentlemen  I  call  Phi  Gams.

other  fraternity  brothers  to  assist  in  running  a  carnival.  I  managed  two  separate  carnival  games  for  100  elementary  students

We  have  come  a  long  way  since  I  have  been  at  Miami  and  we  will  conWnue  to  grow  and  flourish  as  a  chapter  once  the  new  house  is  built  

u  What  being  a  Miami  FIJI  means  to  me:  I  love  the  fact  that  I  have  80+  brothers  that  I  can  talk  to  whenever  I  have  a  problem  and  whom  I  feel  comfortable  with

over  1,000  lbs  of  donated  food  for  the  local  food  pantry  u  FIJI  Offices:  New  Member  Educator,  Spring  2012.  Brotherhood  Chair,  Fall/Spring  2014  u  Favorite  memory  of  the  old  house:  Waking  up  in  Hut  1  on  the  weekends  to  walk  out  onto  the  balcony  and  

listen  to  great  music,  enjoy  great  weather  and  catch  up  on  all  the  previous  night's  shenanigans  with  other  brothers.  

u  What  130  E  High  means  to  you:  I  was  here  for  summer  class  when  the  fire  happened,  living  in  130  the  whole  year  prior.  I  will  also  be  returning  in  the  fall  for  an  extra  semester  fiah  year.    As  a  older  member  of  the  chapter,  it  means  everything  to  me  that  we  reestablish  the  house  and  honor  its  tradiWons.    With  the  possibility  of  living  in  the  house  next  year,  I  will  do  everything  I  can  to  share  my  knowledge  and  memories  with  the  younger  members  of  the  chapter  who  have  been  deprived  of  the  opportunity  to  experience  a  year  in  130  E  High.  While  the  physical  structure  of  130  may  have  been  damaged  or  destroyed,  the  memories  that  I  have  made  will  last  me  well  beyond  my  years  at  Miami.  

u  What  being  a  Miami  FIJI  means  to  you:  When  I  have  something  that  is  bothering  me  and  need  to  share  it  with  someone,  I  know  that  I  can  go  to  any  brother  in  our  chapter  and  trust  them  with  what  I  say.    SomeWmes  we  can  not  tell  our  parents  or  family  certain  things  and  need  support  in  other  ways.    When  we  got  word  of  the  fire  and  watched  the  flames  consume  130  right  in  front  of  our  eyes,  I  could  not  see  any  way  that  I  could  recover.    This  incident  made  us  even  stronger  and  showed  me  that  the  toughest  of  Wmes  in  my  life,  I  can  rely  on  any  one  of  my  brothers  to  support  me  and  comfort  me  uncondiWonally.

roles  and  responsibiliWes  during  my  Wme  here  and  worked  with  sales,  finance,  layout,  manufacturing,  and  logisWcs.  

u  FIJI  AcWviWes:  I  parWcipate  in  all  the  philanthropy  events  u  FIJI  Offices:  Brotherhood  Chair  u  Favorite  memory  of  the  old  house:  My  favorite  memory  of  130  was  being  

able  to  wake  up  and  see  my  30  best  friends  everyday.  Living  in  130  was  one  of  the  greatest  experiences  I  have  ever  had.  Miss  it  everyday.  

u  What  130  E  High  means  to  me:  130  E  High  means  Brotherhood  to  me.  The  house  burning  down  was  a  tragic  event  and  broke  all  of  our  hearts,  but  it  also  made  us  come  together  and  realize  how  special  of  a  connecWon  all  of  us  share  with  each  other  and  that  no  mager  how  detrimental  an  event  may  be,  I  always  know  my  Phi  Gam  brothers  will  be  there  to  support  me.  

u  What  being  a  Miami  FIJI  means  to  me:  When  I  visited  Miami  my  senior  year  of  high  school,  I  was  fortunate  enough  to  get  to  tour  through  the  Fiji  House.  The  moment  I  stepped  in  the  house  I  knew  I  wanted  to  be  a  Fiji.  Being  a  Fiji  at  Miami  is  almost  an  accomplishment  for  me.  The  connecWons  I  have  made  and  life  long  brothers  I  have  now  are  so  important  to  me.  I  can't  imagine  being  in  any  other  fraternity  at  Miami.

chapter  (Kappa  Dog  Night,  and  Monday  Night  Football).  Raised  nearly  3,000  for  Bright  Side  of  the  Road,  a  Cleveland-­‐based  ALS  Research  FoundaWon.  Also  raised  $1,150  through  a  Mom’s  Weekend  aucWon  which  was  donated  to  the  Leukemia  and  Lymphoma  Society  

u  Favorite  memory  of  the  old  house:  Living  in  the  Jungle  Room.  This  was  a  room  with  an  extremely  elaborate  painWng  of  a  jungle  on  3  of  the  walls  which  to  me  was  just  one  (of  many)  intricate  piece  of  character  that  made  130  so  special  to  live  in.  

u  What  130  E  High  mean  to  me:  Brotherhood.  No  mager  what  age  you  were,  or  what  day  of  the  week  it  was,    a  majority  of  the  chapter  could  always  be  found  inside  the  house  hanging  out  even  if  you  didn't  live  there.  

u  What  being  a  Miami  FIJI  means  to  me:  The  house  on  the  corner  of  campus  and  high  means  everything  to  me.  So  many  people  have  put  their  blood,  sweat,  and  tears  into  gedng  us  back  into  it  and  I  am  extremely  proud  to  say  we  were  able  to  accomplish  it.

Andrew  Clendenen  u  Hometown:  Wellesley,  MA  u  Class:  Senior  u  GPA:  2.4  u  Major:  Public  AdministraWon  u  Target  Career/Field:  Business  Management  u  Academic  Honors:  Freshman  year  I  won  the  Farmer  School  of  Business  WriWng  Award  for  my  excellence  in  

business  wriWng  u  Internship  Experience:  Over  the  past  two  summers  I  interned  in  Quincy,  MA  with  Arbella  Insurance  Group  in  

commercial  underwriWng.  During  the  internship  I  worked  with  Microsoa  Excel,  Word,  and  Powerpoint  documenWng  instrucWons  for  SmartBoard  use.  In  addiWon,  I  worked  in  Excel  consolidaWng  and  formadng  commercial  lines  insurance  policies.    

u  Oxford  Community  AcWviWes:  Freshmen  year  I  worked  at  the  Goggin  Ice  Center  as  a  refree  and  a  volunteer  coach  for  a  mite  hockey  team.  Those  were  not  the  only  acWviWes  I  parWcipated  in  at  Goggin,  I  also  play  for  the  FIJI  ice  hockey  team  in  a  compeWWve  advanced  level  league.    

u  FIJI  AcWviWes:  My  sophomore  year  I  helped  set  up  and  run  a  carnival  at  a  local  elementary  school.  I  built  events  and  games  in  addiWon  to  making  sure  the  kids  were  safe  and  having  fun.  This  past  fall,  several  brothers  and  I,  raked  leaves  and  cleaned  out  a  garden  at  the  local  Oxford  Art  Center.    

u  FIJI  Offices:  My  sophomore  year  I  was  elected  Recruitment  Chair  along  with  one  other  brother.  Together  we  conducted  recruitment  events  and  conWnuously  were  meeWng  new  potenWal  members  while  represenWng  FIJI  in  the  right  way.  

u  Favorite  memory  of  the  old  house:  My  favorite  memory  of  the  old  house  would  definitely  have  to  be  in  the  spring  hanging  out  on  the  balcony.  It  made  the  house,  and  us,  unique  and  its  something  that  I  really  appreciated  having  during  my  Wme  as  a  FIJI.    

u  What  130  E  High  means  to  me:  The  house  atop  slant-­‐walk  was  probably  my  favorite  experience  in  all  of  college.  The  whole  year.  Living  with  not  only  my  pledge  class,  but  with  other  brothers  in  different  grades  made  the  house  a  good  mix  of  leadership  and  friendship.  I  made  memories  and  friends  in  that  house  that  I  will  never  forget.    

u  What  being  a  Miami  FIJI  means  to  me:  Being  a  FIJI  at  Miami  is  something  I  can  say  with  my  head  held  high  when  I  graduate.  We  have  been  through  so  much  to  get  to  where  we  are  and  I  am  proud  to  call  these  guys  my  brothers  and  greatly  impressed  with  what  we,  as  a  whole,  were  able  to  accomplish.  A  lot  of  people  put  so  much  hard  work  in  to  put  FIJI  in  a  good  light  on  this  campus  and  I  believe  that  it  will  only  get  brighter  from  here.
