“How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news of happiness.” Isaiah 52:7 Working seamlessly together, this January Team #1 was multi-functional in God given purpose. Priorities included taking quality photos of sponsored children as well as all school photography, medical nursing team assisting NHMI school nurse with priorities, Cima Church work project, and village evangelism-food packages. Led by Paul and Heidi Glyman, this team showed forth the love of Christ in so many life-giving ways. Team member Sheelagh Tittle shares, “Thank you for sharing your passion of Haiti with me. Your dedication to New Hope shines brightly, and I’m excited to be a part of such a blessed experience. I now have a passion I hold dear.”

“But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.” Psalm 86:15

“The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” James 5:16 (ESV) To describe this January Team #2, Tahliah Peek shared, “Haiti broke my heart in places for humanity I could not imagine. Held sweet fragile hands in my hands, prayed over the hurting and sick, cried with people, danced and sang with kids. #PowerfulTeam.” As Myron and Carol Goodwin led this team, NHMI is grateful for their vision to “go beyond”. In ministry to school personnel through gifts and bags of food, distribution of presents to NHMI churches (without schools), work projects, time with elderly, and a conference on the person, purpose, and power of the Holy Spirit, this team demonstrated an incredible unity of heart and spirit.

    FINANCIAL PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” Psalm 116:15 In memory of the parents of Brent Baird (NHMI Founder and Director) and Jeff Baird (Board President), the NHMI Board of Directors agreed to build the church at Cima in their honor. In God’s faithfulness and with the generous spirit of His people combined with memorial funds, property was purchased and walls finished by summer 2019. In January, both work team projects focused on the church. Special thanks to Del Hardin who supervised the roof and everyone who worked so diligently. What a joy as the congregation of the righteous celebrated their first service in their new building.

Bas Aviation—1st Floor Addition Kitchen, Toilet, and Classroom Facility

With joy and gratitude in our hearts, we want to express our appreciation for your dedicated involvement with this project. Your committed financial assis-tance enables us to accomplish effective kingdom service. As you know, Bas Aviation has proven to be one of the most difficult areas to build, not only because it’s the “inner city” of Cap Haitian but also due to the life-threatening protests in the fall. To ensure safety, the city suspended all construction. Finally, for the saints who gave and for the many who prayed, thank you. Pictures below show the beginning phases of this work project from property/shed to rented facility to outside walls.

“School Desks-A 2020 Priority” NHMI teachers have a heart to instruct their students on both an academic and spiritual level. Since most of our educators either stand at the blackboard or sit in a chair at the front of a class, building simple desks is on the priority work project list for 2020. What a joy to see vision become reality when one of our January teams constructed not only church benches but also twelve school desks. Please remember to pray for our teachers and students. Due to the life-threatening protests in the fall, schools are currently on an increased pace to implement nine months of learning into the five months left of this school year. This can create daily struggles in education which tend to be over-whelming for everyone.
