Theme <Buildings>Theme <Buildings>Open issues – Status of cadastral dataOpen issues – Status of cadastral data
• Cadastral data – building units– link to addresses and to cadastral parcels– official area– official value
• Benefits: give flexibility at MS level to adapt INSPIRE profile to national context and regulation
• Risk: no effort (no fund) is spent to make cadastral data conformant to a non-normative profile

Theme <Buildings>Theme <Buildings>Open issues – Classification of buildingsOpen issues – Classification of buildings
• Current status classification according to:– the activity hosted by the building (for management use cases)
– the physical aspect (for mapping purposes)
Based on Eurostat
classification
More information to be found in themes AF, PF and US
Mainly based on international use cases (air traffic, marine
navigation)
Both code lists are extensible by MS

Theme <Buildings>Theme <Buildings>Open issues – Classification of buildingsOpen issues – Classification of buildings
• Open issues– Technical :
• some inconsistencies with US• possible improvements
– Political: • Data producers have more detailed classification of Buildings (schools, hospitals, …)• This information should/might be provided under theme US (or AF or PF)• But data producers would prefer to supply it under theme BU
Review also data specifications of facilities themes (mainly Governmental Services) Should TWG BU propose more detailed classification of buildings? Give your point of view on
this issue Provide available information about responsibilities at MS level (if already defined)
