One simultaneously enjoys convivial gatherings with guests, puts special em- phasis on indulgence and good preparation of valuable ingredients and also lives with the strength and creative energy of an ar- chaic fire,” Andreas Reichlin, inventor of the Feuerring, says. A true artist since his childhood, his inspiration for art and the Feuerring stems from nature as reduced shapes, simplicity and perfection play sig- nificant roles in his creations. The Feuerring passes on a big part of Reichlin’s philoso- phy of life: sociable and cosy get-togethers with a pristine, archaic form. Ten years ago, the Swiss steel sculptor had a vision of creating a design object which would intelligently combine art and func- tionality, when a personal health en- croachment demanded for new solutions. Reichlin’s stomach had a problem with tol- erating barbecued food from the grillage and thus he searched for an alternative to live his love for fire. He has found an intel- ligent solution for everyone sick and tired of steaks, fish or courgettes with a distinctive charcoal taste by presenting the Feuerring, a beautiful barbeque with an appealing de- sign. He created outdoor art which enables healthy and delightful grilling adventures in every season of the year and which is sure to become the centre of attention at every gathering. Andreas Reichlin designed a well-shaped bowl constructed from specific alloy steel with a 12mm thick ring, which is welded to a 6mm thick bowl. The ring serves as a practical surface to grill meat, fish or veg- etables. With a temperature of approxi- mately 300 degrees Celsius, the inner side Simple and elegant design, sculptural aesthetics and a sensual accent: Who would think that these words are associated with a barbeque? However, the Feuerring is not only a healthy grilling device, but also an exceptional design object for outdoor spaces. Also functioning as a cosy fireplace, it seeks to celebrate conviviality, in- dulgence and pleasure in creativity. of the ring is perfect for searing, while theouter side with its 180 to 200 degrees Cel-sius can be used for slow and gentle cook-ing. The grilled food is thus never exposedto the direct fire, and due to a tiny incline inthe outer ring, grease and juices run to-wards the inside edge of the Feuerring’sgrill ring. Andreas Reichlin explains: “Fatwhich drips into the embers and then risesas toxic vapours onto the grillables maypresent a health risk and it is also not reallytasty. The Feuerring is able to give vegeta-bles, fish, meat, cheese, fried eggs, Swisshash browns or even raclette its originaltaste back; everything succeeds easily andwithout an unhealthy and charred after-taste.” One doesn’t need to wait for theperfect embers with the Feuerring, butrather constantly grill beside a warm andcrackling open fire. This designs an excep-

tional ambience andmood: sitting togetherwith friends, exchanging ideas and talking, enjoying conviviality and culinary art.“Ourstrength lies in the lived philosophy of in-dulgence, conviviality, aesthetics and pleas-ure in creativity,”Andreas Reichlin adds.

Topmost level of craftsmanship

In his workshop in Switzerland’s Im-mensee, Andreas Reichlin created thepatented original design made of massivesteel plates with a big portion of accuracyand sensitivity after he worked meticu-lously on the design for five years straight.“The Feuerring was created out of passionand not to solely launch a new product,”Andreas Reichlin explains. Each Feuerringis entirely made by hand and is a trueunicum as Andreas Reichlin solely workson commission.

The bowl of fire gets produced and weldedperfectly into one shape directly in the de-signer’s workshop by experienced metalworkers under the supervision of AndreasReichlin.“We have a small warehouse andcan deliver within three weeks. Our com-pany primarily works with regional re-sources, whether in the production of theFeuerring or the manufacturing of addi-tional products, in graphics and also inprinting. Even our packaging comes from anearby village and ‘makes sense’ as it getsproduced in a welfare institution, it is sim-ply unpacked after delivery and is versa-tilely useable,”Andreas Reichlin explains.Inspired by nature and friendship, theFeuerring’s design is functional and re-duced on the one hand, and comprehen-sively tested and perfected over many yearson the other. The outcome is a productwhich functions in all matters, be it grilling, making fire or easy cleaning.

The original Feuerring comes in various di-ameters and ten slightly varying designs, such as the Luneli, Luna, Ovum and Gas-tro.“We have a new model since March –our Tulip. It comprises of a slightly openedform and is kind of tulip shaped just as the

name reveals. With a height of 50cm and adiameter of 110cm it is perfect for thesmaller garden,” Andreas Reichlin adds.Whether one searches an object for theirprivate garden or for their restaurant or ho-tel, the Feuerring is available in almost alldimensions and shapes and doesn’t leave awish unfulfilled. It can even conquer un-even terrain due to an added, special foun-dation ring. Supplementary accessories, such as a wire brush for thoroughly clean-ing the grilling surface, a cleaning scraper,a woollen blanket, a cushion or a cubemade for either sitting or as a small tableare, of course, available too.

“We appreciate passing on the love of lifeand values such as friendship, community, health andmindfulness through our Feuer-ring.We put special emphasis on authentic-ity and transparency,”Andreas Reichlin con-cludes.The Feuerring is a beautiful, reduceddesign bowl with a sensually aesthetic touchfor every outdoor area, 100 per centmade inSwitzerland. It is a barbeque that enableshealthy and tasty grilling. It also poses as acrackling, archaic fire and is a device thatseeks to emphasise indulgence, cosy con-viviality and simplicity. An impressive objetd’art, an item of utility, as well as an exclu-sive design object for private or open out-door spaces all year round, that is what theFeuerring stands for. For exactly these rea-sons, the Feuerring has found many copy-cats and the market is flooded with plagia-rism. But there is only one original.
