There are certain verbs in the French language that require an être verb in
front of the action verb in passé composé.
(House of être or VANDERTRAMPS) BY: ZACH SPICKLER
Allé – to go Mourir- to die Sorti- to get out Naitre- to be born Parti- to leave Arrivé-to arrive Entré-to enter Rentré-to return home Retourné-to return Monté-to get on Descendu-to go down Passé- to pass Resté-to stay Tombé-to fall Venu-to come IRREGULAR Revenu-to come back IRREGULAR Devenu-to become IRREGULAR
These ir verbs are irregular and use a U instead of an I in passé composé…
This is the conjugated verb specific to the subject.
This is the être verb that goes along with the subject
REMEMBER: er verbs – éir verbs– ire verbs– u
EXCEPTION: Venir, revenir, and devenir all use a U instead of and i
Because nous is plural, an S must be added to resté
Vous êtes parti ma maison à midi.Elles sont restées à un hôtel.
There is the extra E because of the elle part and the S because elles is plural.
