The Kiwi Pad overview

The Kiwi Pad combines a notepad app, and a text-to-speech/speech-to-text feature.

It gives you the option to write notes of any kind and then listen or view the notes later.

Inspirations for the Kiwi Pad

The inspirations mainly came from the class of 2012 at A.J. Moore. The entire class was well prepared for college. However, the Kiwi Pad offers additional resources that could help them in college.

Oh, the challenges!

The first major challenge; Time constraints, our class only had 24 hours of class time for the total project.

The second major challenge; Our prior coding knowledge was limited.

The third major challenge; Putting two apps together. We had the task of adding a Notepad app, with a Text-to-speech app.

Creative, and Technical processes

The creative process combined a fruit, and a need for something useful for college. That inspired us to develop Kiwi Software and the Kiwi Pad.

Our technical process started with sketching a wireframe of our app. Then it moved into production phase, which took place in Adobe Flash. As of now we are working on the actual downloadable app, once it gets done, we plan on adding it to the market and seeing how it fares.

Future Development?

We plan on continuing the app development. We are currently attending college studying computer networking and computer maintenance. We also hope for an opportunity to develop mobile apps in the future!

Inspiration

As of today, 88% of plastic bottles are not recycled in the United States.

We have identified the habit of not recycling as a serious problem in our community, and we have developed a potential solution to this problem…
