The big advantage consists in the fact that each controlcircuit possesses its own program controller, so utmostflexibility is guaranteed. One can start identical or completelydifferent programs at the same or at any different point oftime. Each control circuit possesses a built in ammeterwhich serves the current drain control. Even an untraineduser is able to operate the unit after a short introduction. The operational precision guarantees precise compliancewith the annealing data.

The requirements on the accuracy of temperature registrationdevices is variable depending on the application. For thisreason at WELDOTHERM® you can choose 6 or 12 channeltemperature recorders with accuracy classes 1, 0.5 and 0.25according to DIN 43710.

To facilitate the operation of our heat treatment units evenmore, related to practice, WELDOTHERM® heat treatment unitswork with secondary voltages of 30 and 60 Volts as standard. The possible heating element dimensions within these voltage

In case of possible improvements which show during opera-tion on sites or within the WELDOTHERM® design and devel-opment department, these will immediately implemented intothe running fabrication.

range guarantee that a 1" circumferential joint can be heattreated as well as a large vessel joint or any other workpiece. To connect a heating element to a wrong voltage is thereforealmost impossible.

WELDOTHERM® heat treatment units are equipped with safetyfacilities for personnel and workpieces which widely tran-scend the valid VDE requirements!

The intrinsic safety of each VAS unit covers an operationaltemperature control of the transformer including forced shut-off, fan cooling with separated power connection, an emer-gency Shut-Off button at the side of the unit, a touch voltage ofmaximum 30 V against ground, FI-flash actuation at 300 mA,phase input control by control lamps, phase and control volt-age detection including alarm horn (114 Phon) during failureand a single safeguarding of each heating circuit by powerfuses.

WELDOTHERM® manufactures a standard program of fullyautomatic program controlled heat treatment units of alloutput ratings.

Within these output ratings, optimized according to therespective application, any number of control circuits, fullyindependent from each other, are available.

Special Heat Treatment Units

Everywhere else where steel constructions in the upperstrength ranges are being built in unexploited areas, heattreatment processes must still be carried out, even toughthere is no electric power source.

Here is just one example:The construction of natural gas pipelines often takes placeunder extreme climatic conditions – at hot weather in tropicalareas as well as in icy regions. The heat treatment of pipelinewelds such as carried out under normal conditions is there-fore not possible.

WELDOTHERM® has designed a range of special mobile andcompletely self contained heat treatment units which cancope well with the above mentioned conditions.

No matter where and which power is required for your heattreatment job, WELDOTHERM® has the solution for you.

20 and 40 feet containers equipped with heat treatment unitsfrom 24 to 220 kW, according to requirements, are poweredby Diesel generators with their requisite three phase A.C.Depending on their size, the containers are divided into either2 or 3 compartments or they are made up of separate sec-tions so the Diesel generator and the heat treatment unit canbe used independently from each. The connections for theheat treatment unit supplemented by two power current con-nections for welding equipment are accessible from outsideand are protected against unauthorized access by a flap.

WELDOTHERM® offers various locomotion solutions for variousapplication areas: Container undercarriage with tired steel-discwires for normal terrain, transport carriages equipped withrunners for soft ground or trailers which are permitted forroad traffic up to 80 km/h.

Infrared Heating Systems

WELDOTHERM® IHF Heating Panels were developed for pre-heating of moving parts. They are constructed in a modularway which enables the user to adjust the power and alsothe shape to the workpiece at anytime. Adjustable connec-tions make it possible to connect several IHF heating panels, both in longitudinal and cross direction, to enlarge the heat-ing panel. Using the holding shackles on the backside IHFheating panels can be fixed onto supporting structures. It is recommended to use non-contact measuring at thematerials surface by using optical sensors. IHF heatingpanels consist of a frame made of a special section tubeto which fixing and connecting bars are attached to.

To this frame the special AF aluminium casting housings arescrewed to which contain the infrared heaters, the reflectorsand also the wiring duct.
