what is tfl?It’s about time — for TFL.They’ve been called a number of things over the years — decorative melamine overlays, thermally fused melamine, low pressure laminates. No wonder there has been so much confusion in the market about what they are and why they are. In 2012, the industry collectively agreed to use one simple and accurate descriptor for these high-performing, cost-effective surface overlays: Thermally Fused Laminates, or TFL.

TFL are resin-saturated papers that are thermoset under high heat and pres-sure to a substrate (particle board, MDF, plywood and others) to form a durable, beautiful and consistent appearance for a wide variety of applications.

Not just another pretty facing, TFL offers a variety of distinct characteristics and options that create opportunity up and down the value chain, from manufacturer to architect and more.
