Protective sheaths must be selected according to the processing conditions. Metal protective sheaths are mainly used at up to 1200ºC. The use of ceramic sheaths over 1200ºC. To prevent the thermocouple wire elements affected by the harmful gases in the process and to ensure long-lasting a second ceramic protective sheath into the outer protective sheat(primary) is added.

In this catalog indicated thermocouples are generally considered to be connected to the flange or bushed. The maximumheight of the thermocouple be immersed sheath and measurement errors may be due to the heat transfer that occurs along the wire to be determined considering. To make accurate measurement of thermocouples,the outer protective sheath diameter of the thermocouple minimum must be immersed into the process 6-10 times the length. Immersion length perpendicular to the dipping process is better suited to prevent bending of long protective sheath.But,the horizontal support as required to dip to keep the thermocouple should be placed flat inside.In addition, the cable betweenthe thermocouple and compensation devices should be used.Termocouple elements of the appropriate compensation should be paid to the cable to be selected and the right connection.

All parts of thermocouples selected according to the type specified in the catalog can be ordered. It is possible to repair the thermocouple.The materials to be repaired close to the complete price of the thermocouple is not economical to repair.

Straight type thermocouples are communly used temperaturesensors from -200ºC to 2320ºC in different processes.Processconditions should be determined carefully for long-term usage ofthermocouples.So,thermocouple elements,isolator,if necessarysheath material should be selected correctly.Detailed informationabout thermocouple selection is avaible in ORDEL catalog.
OT01 Metal sheath. A or B type heads can be used dependent on the diameter of sheath. They have no record or sheath. If they are neccesary,their info is added to special condition part. Element wire is installed into metal pipe as welded. They have no inset.
OT02 These types of thermocouples have ceramic protecting tubes. KER-610, KER-530 and KER-799 ceramic tubes which are used in high temperatures are connected to head with a metal pipe. If neccesary, flange and mounting bush may be assebled. Thermocouples immersion length is placed just below the head.
OT03 These types of thermocouples are inset type. They have metal sheats andmounting bush. Head-mounting bush distance is 120mm. Standard mounting bushis ½”. They are preferred in some processes that requires a meaningful distancebetween head and connecting point.
OT04 Only difference from OT03 is the length of head-record that is 145mm.
OT05 It is assembled into protecting tube in OT03 and OT04 thermocouples. It is preferred in some processes that requires the protecting tubes.
