With Janice’s creativity and teaching knowledge, she wrote articles for Home Life magazine, Mature Living and Baptist Student Magazine. Her hobbies are reading, gardening “digging in the dirt”, planting flowers, sewing, spending time with the family, and cooking. She loved to try different recipes for Bill and their two daughters. Bill would let her know if it was a “keeper!” Janice lives by the “Joy Principle” - Jesus first, others second, along with family, and then lastly, yourself. Meet Janice Cox

Bop-Bop-a-Do-Wop!

After touring many other facilities, a friend told Janice about the Fountains of Franklin. At first glance, she knew that the Fountains was to be her new home. She was also delighted that the location was close to her daughter, Donna. Janice’s life journey began in Mississippi. At four years old, her family moved to Lafayette, Louisiana, where she later graduated from USL with a passion to teach. This passion lead her to Southwestern Seminary, in Fort Worth, Texas to pursue her major in Children’s Work. Her future

husband, Bill, also attended the seminary and was studying to be a Minister of Education. He had earlier graduated from OBU with a degree in Engineering. Married in 1956, their lives together made a powerful bond. Each of them was ready to take on the world with God by their side. Their many talents helped paved the way. Around 1957, Bill was employed by Convair in Fort Worth, Texas, where he worked on a top-secret nuclear part for the “Delta Wing” plane. Janice was teaching school at the time. She and her class had the privilege of the first view of this exciting plane fly over the school. What a treat and memory. Their ministry path led them to San Angelo, Texas to Park Heights Baptist Church, then on to Memphis, Tennessee to the Union Avenue Baptist Church and finally to Nashville, Tennessee, in the early 1960’s to the national office of the Baptist Sunday School Board, which is now Lifeway. Meet Kyla KnowlesKyla has long wanted to pursue the medical field so that she could take care of people. She felt the Fountains of Franklin was the best first step for her, and she loves it here. Her goal is to become an LPN. She was raised in California and moved to Tennessee in 2000 where she started working in the food and beverage industry and remained in that field for 14 years. That experience allowed her to see how she enjoyed helping others, but she wanted to continue that in a different capacity. Kyla’s family is very important to her, as well as her dogs. She has three sons, Ethan (12 yrs), Brayden (9 yrs) and Nolan (6 yrs). She values their togetherness, while fishing, being at home, watching movies and much more. The boys love catching those smallmouth bass in the local creeks! In comparison to her previous jobs, she enjoys taking care of the residents, and that warms her

heart. She feels her role is to make sure every resident is happy and healthy and can always depend on her for anything they can’t do for themselves. Kyla says she loves to see the residents smile, and she always tries to have a smile on her face, too. Kyla, we are so glad that you decided to pick the Fountains of Franklin to pursue your dream!
