I come from Medsin-UK and have been working on global health issues for over 4 years and would describe myself as a bit of a global health nerd. This year I am the Coordinator of Think Global and also Global Health Education Director for the UK. Previously I have gained experience and knowledge from internships at WHO, Doctors of The World and the New York City Department of Health. I feel strongly that we as students can not only inform ourselves about global health issues but also engage with them and make a real difference.'

Nilofer Khan Habibullah is pursuing a combined 6 year B.S/M.D program at the American International Medical University; conducted at St. Lucia in the Caribbean, with clinical training at the United States. A global ci-tizen, born and raised in Saudi Arabia and having volunteered at primary care centers at India and in the Caribbean, Nilofer is passionate about global health, promoting cultural competency in health care professionals, HIV/AIDS palliative care, and health equity.Nilofer contributed to the U.S Peace Corps HIV/AIDS Special Research Project at St. Lucia, worked on non-communicable disease (NDCs) awareness with St. Lucia Ministry of Health, and founded the International Federation of Medical Students Associations’ first-ever Non-communicable Disease Day 2011 to mark the U.N High level Summit on NCDs- which had national student organizati-ons participate from almost 40 countries. True to a passion for health equity and founder of American Medical Students Association chapter at her university, AMSA drove her to campaign for universal health care at Capitol Hill in July 2009. That experience led her to develop programming for the IFMSA’s Week of Action on Social Determinants of Health and for AMSA’s Health Equity Week of Action 2012. Currently, she is involved in developing a global health guidebook with the Global Health Education Consortium (GHEC).-as part of its Student Advisory Committee, and youth section of The Lancet-University of Oslo Commission on Global Go-vernance for Health.

Born and raised with an objective and refle-xive vission of life found his passion in human sciences first got interested in philosophy because of an interest of understanding mankind and their way of thinking, then got carried away by the exciting world of medicine which had always been on his mind. Being passionate about making a change and leaving something for the world, started getting involved in community vo-luntary work in poor communities from his country and started working on scientific organizations to complement and give background to his work. Involved in decision-making bodies at his faculty and his scientific associa-tion of medical students, he began to develop projects focused on medical education and public health but oriented to the medical and general com-munity with the help of health offices from the city and state and a group of medical students with similar interests.
