Hybrid Digital and Analog SystemThe SLCS is the latest advance in the field of intelligent lighting controls and is widely used in various types of public building control, smart homes and hotel rooms. The SLCS integrates the two-wire control of second generation digital lighting controls with conventional switches and primary load wiring. This allows the SLCS to combine the benefits of using conventional switches together with the advantages of having digital lighting control such as having remote control, multiple access, and scene selection. Previously, conventional and digital lighting controls are incompatible with each other, one has to choose one or the other. But the SLCS proves that this need not be the case and one can have the best of both worlds.

Gaining the Benefits of Conventional SwitchesDigital lighting controls allow for unprecedented control, but conventional switches have the advantages of being familiar to operate, highly reliable, easy to maintain, low cost and available in a wide variety of attractive designs which are all qualities that cannot be easily duplicated using digital switches. These are all features that can only be found in the third generation SLCS.

Easy to Use Yet Highly ExpandableThe SLCS does not require a central controller, and is very affordable even for building small systems consisting only of a few loads. A basic network only requires a two wire cable for connecting the various components. Setup does not require special software or specialized tools. The system is highly scalable and can be expanded using the same basic building blocks into hundreds of loads.

Low Price, High ValueIn the past, intelligent lighting controls systems have always been expensive and can only be found in high end places. The SLCS provides excellent value for the money and not only can it enhance the quality of life, but it can also help significantly in saving energy. It is a technology that should be an indispensable part of any building renovations or new construction.

The smart or digital home is definitely one of the latest and life changing inventions of the Internet Age.

Not only does digital lighting control do away with the conventional notion of having to hardware one

switch to one light, but it can do so much more, such as being able to change the scene, turning on or

off entire groups of lights, controlling the curtains or air conditioning all the flick of a switch bringing a

new level of sophistication and convenience to the digital home.

The SLCS allows the diverse range of elegantly designed and attractive conventional switches to be

integrated as part of the SLCS. More importantly, in case a problem occurs on the part of the digital

controls, conventional switches remain operational, acting as a failsafe and greatly increasing system

reliability.

Cleverly integrating the conventional with digital is just

the beginning with the SLCS, as it goes even further

by allowing devices such as digital intercoms, iPods

and iPads to become controllers as well, greatly

increasing the number of choices for control access

and user convenience.

one can turn on or off the lights in the living room,

garden or anywhere else without leaving the warmth

and comfort of your bed or interrupting your sleep.

- Set the desired lighting mood for entertaining guests,

family gathering, watching a movie or reading all without

having to leave your sofa through your iPad/iPhone/iPod

Touch.

- In the living and dining rooms, one can quickly switch

to the desired mood such as dining, family gathering,

watching TV or reading all at the flick of a button.

- Mood lighting is all about using a clever combination of

the unique properties of digital control, lighting and

dimming by the interior designer to change a room

from a static into a dynamic environment, transforming

it into an almost magical space.

Conventional Switch Integration - A Melding of Technology And Art

Conventional switches with their multitude of shapes, colors, materials is most suited for

the diverse needs of the interior designer.

- In conjunction with the LT3070, conventional switches become more than just single light

switches, but can be made to activate a preset lighting pattern to set any desired scenery.

- With the LT3036, conventional switches would still be able to retain its normal on/off

operation even with a failure of the system bus.

Remote Control From a Distance With a Mobile Phone

While away from home, one can know the status of the lights at

home or even remotely turn on the lights before arriving home.

Dedicated Community Smart Home Web Server

One of the most amazing effects that can be achieved with the smart home is the ability to

control the lighting, curtains, gas and air conditioning through an Internet enabled mobile

phone, which can increase the value of the home substantially.

By using a community based web server, a CC1000 and a two wire cable to connect to each

household, the user can go online to login with their name and password to access their

account to monitor and control the lighting, air conditioning and other equipment of their home.

Office Lighting Control System Traditional System

Reconfigurable Office Lighting LayoutFor rental office buildings, it is often necessary to reconfigure the lighting wiring

depending on the needs of the tenant and the layout of the rooms. This results in time

consuming and expensive renovation. By using the Office Lighting Control System

(OLCS), it is possible to reconfigure the lighting layout without having the physically

rewire the system by simply changing the settings of the OLCS in a manner similar to a

telephone switchboard.

(A single switch can control

multiple lighting circuits simultaneously)

Commercial Space

DAE INSTRUMENT CORP.7

It is often necessary to make use of conventional switches due to their variety and design to match the visual appeal in a commercial environment to facilitate access and pattern activation from multiple locations.

Integrating Conventional Switches Into A Digital System

For places such as restaurants, theaters, conference halls, shopping centers, hospitals,

motels, amusement areas, multi-storied buildings and other large and spacious public

areas, it is often necessary to reduce unnecessary movement just to control the lights.

Hence it would be desirable to have a more convenient and centralized location for the

lighting control or even to have the capability to automatically control the lights through a

fixed schedule. It is even possible activate preset lighting patterns to have a more

dynamic and appealing commercial environment. One can even remotely control the

lighting or ventilation through the use of a web enabled mobile phone.

Scheduling, Patterns and Centralized Control

Each lighting load can be controlled automatically with its

own schedule. The DM825 is schedule controller with a

web based interface to set the desired schedule as well

as the capability to temporarily override the schedule

control.

In a hotel room, simply press the button at the

bedside to select the desired lighting mood, such

as casual, watching TV or for sleeping.

By centralizing the lighting and air conditioning controls of

all the hotel rooms at the front desk, it would be possible to

remotely turn both the lighting and air conditioning on for

the comfort and convenience of the guest before they

occupy the room, and conversely to turn both off when the

guest checks out to reduce energy consumption.

Hotel Front Desk Control

A central location such as at a reception desk or

security office can be established to collect all the

controls that will allow one to conveniently monitor the

real time status as well as to remotely control the lights.

During peak hours, the lights would be turned

on, but during the evenings, control reverts to

IR sensors, which would allow the lights to

turn on and off automatically and only as

needed when there are people around.

Depending on the activity or event, it is

necessary to preset different types of patterns

to achieve a desired lighting scene or mood.

Using the touch panel screen, one can easily

select the desired pattern at a touch.

other as desired at the touch of a switch.

A central location such as at a reception desk

or security office can be established to collect

all the controls that will allow one to

conveniently monitor the real time status as

well as to remotely control the lights.

It is also possible to have each lighting circuit

have its own individual schedule controlled

automatically. The DM825 schedule controller

features a web interface to set the desired

schedule as well as the capability to

temporarily override the schedule control.

iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch Universal Remote ControlIn the living room or home theater, the lighting, curtains and audio/visual

equipment and even the air conditioning can all be operated from IR

remote enabled iPad or iPod Touch.

Attaching an IR remote accessory turns the iPad or iPod Touch into a

universal remote control which can be used to control various equipment

including the TV, A/V, stereo, DVD, curtains, projector, the lighting and air

conditioning. The lighting can be further be fine tuned by a selection of

moods such as casual, relaxation, gathering, serene, romantic, etc.

※ When the lights are physically close to the switches, conventional switches may

be used in conjunction with the LT3000, LT3036 or LT3070.

※ Conventional switches may also be used to operate in group or pattern modes just

like digital switches.

Other Control Devices

A choice of 5" or 7" screens are available to act as operator interfaces, with the 7" having the option for different network communication interfaces.

※ Conventional switches connected to either LT3000/LT3070 can be made to control one of load circuits of the

LT3036, thus forming a toggle pair. In a similar manner, a pattern mode of operation can also be established

between the LT3000/LT3070 and the LT3036.

※ A combination of the LT3036 and conventional switches will allow the conventional switches to retain its basic

operation even when there is a malfunction in the device or in the digital network which provides a failsafe and

continued operation until such time that proper repairs can be made.

Color Touch Panel Operation

The display shows the status of the lighting load, and is in sync with the status display at the local site.Multiple touch panels can be placed at different locations for the same system.

※ Conventional swches are easy to replace and maintain.

※ The required wiring for the SLCS is similar to conventional wiring.

This feature is not limited to digital switches but is also available

with touch panels and conventional switches.

The third floor is the local control switch, while another switch is located at the administrative office on the first floor. For example, a person turns the lights on while on the third floor, but forgets to turn off the lights after leaving. The operator at the administration office sees from the button indicator lamp that the third floor lights are on and turns it off from an alternate button right at the office.

※One enters at a point A to turn on the light, while leaving at another point B, there is no need to go back to point A to turn off the lights, one can turn off the lights at point B.

※From the touch panel screen, one can see the status of the same lights and at the same time provide an alternate point of control to turn off the lights in case the user forgets.

The output of the LT4500 is 0-10V and requires a separate dimming ballast or electronic dimmer.

Press once to activate the pattern with some loads turning on, some turning off, and others adjusting to a preset brightness.
