THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION AT TRINITY: The Lords Supper is celebrated in this congregation in the belief and confidence that in this Sac- rament, Christ is truly present, giving us His body and blood, in, with and under the forms of bread and wine (1 Corinthians 10:16, Mark 14:22-24). As Christians (and specifically as Mis- souri Synod Lutherans), we believe that it is through Jesus Christ alone that we have the hope of eternal life. We believe that we are sinners in need of forgiveness and that in the Lord s Supper, God gives that forgiveness, strengthens our faith, and strengthens our union with Him and each other (Romans 3:23, Matthew 26:26-28). As Christians, we also believe that as we come to the Lord s Supper, we are making a com- mitment to amend our sinful lives with the help of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 2:19, Romans 8:6). GUESTS AND VISITORS: Because those who eat and drink our Lord s body and blood unworthily do so to their harm and because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith which is confessed at this altar, any who are not yet instructed or confirmed, or who hold to a doctrinal position differing from that of this congregation and the Lu- theran Church - Missouri Synod, and yet desire to receive the sacrament, are asked first to speak with the pastor (1 Corinthians 11:27-29). At Trinity we practice Close Communion as adopted by our Synod in Convention. ALCOHOL CONTENT IN WINE: The redwine in the chalice and in the outer rings of the communion cup tray contains alcohol. THE SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION AT TRINITY:

The Lord’s Supper is celebrated in this congregation in the belief and confidence that in this Sac-

rament, Christ is truly present, giving us His body and blood, in, with and under the forms of

bread and wine (1 Corinthians 10:16, Mark 14:22-24). As Chr istians (and specifically as Mis-

mitment to amend our sinful lives with the help of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 2:19, Romans 8:6).

GUESTS AND VISITORS: Because those who eat and dr ink our Lord ’s body and blood unworthily do so to

their harm and because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith which is confessed at this altar, any who are not

yet instructed or confirmed, or who hold to a doctrinal position differing from that of this congregation and the Lu-

theran Church - Missouri Synod, and yet desire to receive the sacrament, are asked first to speak with the pastor (1

Corinthians 11:27-29). At Tr inity we practice Close Communion as adopted by our Synod in Convention.

ALCOHOL CONTENT IN WINE: The “red” wine in the chalice and in the outer rings of the communion cup tray

contains alcohol. The “white” wine in the center of the tray is de-alcoholized wine (alcohol nearly 100% removed).

You may use the red or white wine in the tray but please remember that the chalice has only “red” wine with normal

alcohol content.

December Offerings Tr inity, like most churches, receives (and relies on!) a seasonal increase in contributions during the Christmas holidays. It’s through the generosity of our members and visitors that we’re able to expand the reach of our ministry.

If you need a convenient way to make recurring contributions or plan to make an addition-al gift before the end of the year, check out our electronic giving options. As the pace of life speeds up around the holidays, you may find e-Giving a most welcome way to make contributions.

To set up a recurring giving schedule, visit the church website, www.tlbr.org. Click on “Online giving” on “Quick Links” column on the left and follow the simple instructions. Or, fill out an authorization form (in the narthex) and return it to the church office.

To reach the online giving page through your smartphone, scan the QR code to sign up and start giving.

Thank you for your generosity and support! A blessed Christmas to all!

But because Mary and Joseph followed God’s will, countless generations benefit from the presence of this child’s life in the world. Let’s put that in the context of modern life—a young couple facing an unexpected pregnancy. If they follow God’s will, abortion will be averted, and countless generations will benefit, albeit in a much smaller way, from their child’s presence in the world.”
