Last weekend I announced that Deacon Randy Frohlich will be taking over her position here in the office. I ask that you keep them both in your prayers as they transition into new roles in their lives. I thought it would be good to highlight some of the things that Susan has done in the 13 years that she has been working at the Church of St. Joseph. Over the years, she has started or helped start the Bookrack and the Lighthouse Catholic Media Kiosk, the Baccalaureate Mass, DoNut Sunday, Greeter Ministry, the newsletter, new member BBQ, Volunteer appreciation, Parish Life Committee, Baptismal packets for the newly baptized, Easter Egg Hunt, Prayer Bear Ministry (which she was recognized for her work in this ministry by the North Dakota National Guard), maintaining the Archive Room & historical information, Root Beer Float Social, and the Why Catholic book study and bible studies. In addition to these things, she has also helped with our Church of St. Joseph Centennial celebration for both the church and school, the Historical Capital Campaign, renovation committees for the church, school, and daycare, parade floats, parish picnics & potlucks, photo directo- ry photo organization, Joint Council work, St. James meetings (with the other dio- cese parish administrators), Stewardship Committee, Diocese of Bismarck God’s Share Appeal, updating the Sacred Heart Statue, devotionals for liturgical seasons, and organizing bulk mailings. Most notably, Susan has always been the one with the camera in her hand at all major events in the parish to capture every moment for historical purposes. I can only imagine how many pictures she has taken over the last 13 years. She also has taken pride in grooming the plants and flowers around the parish grounds. Susan also enjoys decoration for special occasions around the parish ground such as American flags for Memorial Day and the 4 th of July and Papal Bunting on the doors of the church when a new pope has been elected. In my time here at the parish, Susan has been all about hospitality, getting people involved in the parish and recognizing volunteers. Thank you, Susan, for all of your years of dedication and service to the Church of St. Joseph. Congratulations to our 43 students who received their First Holy Communion last weekend. Again, thank you to our instructors, Angela Morford, Jessica Scherr, Tammy Bullinger, Jason Schafer, and Jaci Engelhardt for all your work in the prep- aration of these students for this special day. Thank you to our principal Valerie Vogel and our Faith Formation director, Laurie Friesz for all their guidance and support of these students and their instructors. Thank you to Lacey Roberts and the Church of St. Joseph choir for helping enhance our liturgy. Lastly, thank you to all the parents and families of our students. Your help and support of the formation of your children will have a very powerful impact on their faith lives. Thank you for letting us share in their faith journey. Lastly, the St. Joseph school annual Hardees night will be this coming Wednesday, April 13 th from 4pm-7pm at the Mandan Hardees. Perpetual Adoration at Spirit of Life Perpetual Adoration in the Mandan/Bismarck area, located in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament chapel at Spirit of Life has been a

great blessing to so many people over the last three years! All area parishes have been involved in sustaining 24/7 adoration! As we

begin the third year, we would like to add new people to the list of committed adorers. There are several open hours which we have been

filling on a week-to-week basis, and of course some of those are late night hours which are the most difficult, but also the most peaceful and reward-

ing. We need second adorers on many daytime hours as well, or you may want to be part of a group of four who share an hour and rotate weeks. If you hear God inviting you to assist in maintaining perpetual adoration in the diocese, please call the Spirit of Life parish office at 663-1660 for more information.
