Fasting before Holy CommunionPresent Church law states that Catholics are required to fast from food and drink (not water) for one hour before receiving Holy Communion. The law also states that this fast may be reduced to 15 minutes for those who are sick or for other important reasons. In the light of recent incidents in Church where people have fainted due to a sharp drop in blood sugar from fasting before Mass, we ask you to please use your own good judgment before coming to Mass by nourishing yourself properly. Thank you for your continued prayerful presence with us.
Congratulations to all children receiving their First Holy Communion. May God bless them as they continue to grow in their faith lives.
