CRHP (CHRIST RENEWS HIS PARISH)

Men’s Retreat ~ March 5 & 6, 2016 (at Precious Blood Parish)

CRHP is designed to bring members of a parish community

together in Christ. Brochures and a sign up sheet can be found in

the back of church.

Wedding Banns

Shane Luebbehusen & Melissa Schwenk Pub II

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

During the past few weeks, the readings have focused on a transformation and a turning away from sin. We all are called to turn away from

sin and turn toward God. Four Deanery reconciliation services will be offered. They include: March 6 in Dale at 4:00pm EST, March 13 at St.

Henry at 4:00pm, March 15 at St. Joseph, Jasper 6:30pm and March 17 at St. Joseph, Jasper, at noon.

On Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at St. Mary’s, Fr. Jeff and I offer reconciliation a half an hour prior to Mass time. Saturday

evening reconciliation is available from 3:00pm till 3:45pm at Precious Blood, and from 4:15pm to 5:15pm at St. Mary.

This Year of Mercy, the Pope has asked for additional time for hours of reconciliation. The Bishop asked each Parish offer two hours of con-

fession on either March 5th or 6th. We will offer Reconciliation from 8:00am till 9:00am for both Linked parishes on Saturday, March 5. Also

we offer in the afternoon again one hour before Mass at each of our respective parishes.

Jesus knew that we would go through difficult experiences in our lives; He knew that we would need some way to reconcile our lives with God

the Father and get back on the right path. That is why He gave us the Sacrament of Reconciliation, which many often refer to as Confession.

Why does the Church ask us to receive this sacrament frequently? Look at this in terms of your physical health. When a sick person has been

cured, it doesn’t necessarily mean that that person will never be sick again, does it? The same is true with our spiritual lives. We are human

and there will always be times when we stray from following God’s will in our lives, and therefore we need to be reconciled. That is why the

Church asks us to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation frequently and at least once a year. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is the greatest

means we have for staying on the right course in following Christ; it also helps us to identify our behaviors that are distracting us from re-

sponding to God’s grace. Allow Fr. Jeff and me, along with our brother priests, serve you and let the Holy Spirit work through us to forgive

you and reconcile you. God’s grace is here for you to receive.

Fr. Gary
