Third Term – Several Options!

Elective courses at Lund University or any other recognized university in Sweden or abroad.

Internship 15 credits or 30 credits

Exchange studies 30 credits

Remember! Your elective term is 30 credits.

Elective Courses

•  Courses do not have to be advanced level but should be relevant for your programme

•  Graduate School courses for autumn 2017 can be found on our website: http://graduateschool.sam.lu.se/education/masters-courses

•  Apply on antagning.se •  Sign in as LU student

Elective Courses

•  Elective courses can be taken at Lund University or any other recognized university in Sweden or abroad.*

*NB! Special rules apply to fee paying students.

•  Courses on Advanced level, check eligibility in the syllabus or with the department.

•  Talk to Pal Olsson or Helena Falk if you feel uncertain about your choice. Book a meeting through Live@Lund in good time before April 18.

Elective courses in Disaster Risk Management, Faculty of Engineering

A package of two courses: •  Societal Resiliance, 7,5 credits •  Foundations for risk assessment and management, 7,5 cr.

More information online. Apply using the form available on LTH website.

Detailed information about application will be provided soon.

NB! The two courses will be taken in parallel during the first half of the term. Thus you must apply for another 15 credits as well.

Internship – why? •  Gain practical experience.

•  A chance to learn more about a certain organisation, position or branch.

•  A possibility to make use of the theories you have learned.

•  A possible reference for the future.

•  Networks!

Internship – Eligibility

•  Internship course 30 credits (20 weeks) /15 credits (10 weeks).

•  An internship could be in Sweden or abroad.

•  The internship course is offered in the autumn term only.

•  Term dates are fixed! More information on our website.

•  Deadline for application June 22

Eligibility for Internship:

•  Profile courses for the programme, 30 credits •  30 credits of courses in Theory of Science and Research Methods. •  Must be finished by course start, August 28.

Internship – How to find an internship

•  Book an appointment with Helena Falk or Pal Olsson if you need advise on your CV.

•  Discuss with your friends, sharing is caring! •  Check the board in our corridor. •  Graduate School Internship website contains links

Internship - To think about

Learn about the internship organisation before applying. Important questions to ask the organisation: •  How many interns does the organisation employ? •  The role of the supervisor? •  How many interns per supervisor? •  Will you have an independent task or project? •  Time to write the reflections and independent study

report within the stipulated working hours?

Internship – How to apply

How to apply through Graduate School: 1.  Optional: Get a pre-approval of the organisation

(talk to Helena Falk or Pal Olsson) 2.  Fill in the ”Agreement on Internship” form. Sign it! 3.  Hand in the ”Agreement on Internship” form at the

student reception desk. 4.  Director of studies approve and sign. 5.  You will be notified by e-mail. Make sure that the supervisor is your contact person, and knows that you will arrive!

Internship Agreement

Erasmus Internship Scholarship

•  Registered as a full time student at Lund University •  Live in the country of the internship •  Minimum period for a placement is 3 months •  Applications for an Erasmus internship are accepted

on a regular basis, 3 weeks turnaround time. •  You will be asked to write a travel report for Erasmus
