From the Pastors Desk It’s time to get on the bus! The basis for all ministry is giftedness. A parishioners call to ministry is a direct response to the gifts God has bestowed on that person, and ministry should flow from those gifts. Parish Minis- try brings together various gifts to accomplish the mission of Jesus Christ. The goal of Parish Ministry is to discover ways to identify, re- lease, utilize , and unify the gifts of all parishioners. Therefore, I am asking you to respond to your baptismal call and en- gage in ministry here at St. Christopher’s with others in our Christian community. Listed are just a few of the many ministries you can partici- pate in and get on the bus: Pre-Cana team member R.C.I.A - presenter C.C.D.- teacher Eucharistic Minister Lector Liturgy of the word for children Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time Weekly Collections First Collection $11,430.25 (including online giving $ 1,013.00) Scholarship Fund $ 1,378.00 Last Year $ 9,923.00 Attendance for the week 772 Thank you for your generosity First Reading: Exodus 22:20-26 This passage from the book of Exodus enjoins all to ad- here to specific religious and social laws. The basis for all ministry is giftedness. A parishioners call to ministry is a direct response to the gifts God has bestowed on that person, and ministry should flow from those gifts. Therefore, I am asking you to respond to your baptismal call and en-gage in ministry here at St. Christopher’s with others in our Christian community. Reflections Loving others is not easy and yet it is what the Lord commands us to do. Our love is to be extended to those we dislike and even despise. Consider what this may mean. How do you treat the invisible people in your world? Do you see the poor as grifters looking for handouts or people in need of help? How do you try to help others? Is your aid and concern reserved for those you deem worthy or is it freely given? Pray for the grace to love others as Jesus did.

~0~ Villa Walsh will host their annual Christmas Bazaar Extravaganza on Nov. 5th, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm at Villa Walsh Mother Ninetta Hall, 455 Western Ave. Morristown, NJ. ~0~ This has been a busy year for the Diocese and I thank each one of you who so patiently supported all our endeavors. Our 80th year has been one of celebration in many ways. Our diocese was established by Pope Pius XI on December 9, 1937. To celebrate this historic event, Bishop Serratelli will preside at a 9:30 a.m. Solemn Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on De-cember 9, 2017 followed by a Communion Breakfast at The Brownstone, Paterson, beginning at 11:00 a.m. This is not a fundraiser; it is a chance for all of us to come together and cele-brate our Diocese. Tickets are $40 per person and are available on line at: www.rcdop.org/breakfast. This is a day of celebra-tion for all of us in the Diocese of Paterson!

What impact did he have on the Church’s teaching about Mary? These and other questions will be answered on Mondays from 10:30 am to 11:45 am in room 110, when Fr. Joe talks about Pope Pius XII’s life. Its interesting and its fun. Come join us! An added bonus: Fr. Joe will answer questions about current or past events of our Church.
