2017 Annual Report STANLY COUNTY FAMILY YMCA

THIS IS THE

STANLY DIFFERENCE 2017 Annual Report STANLY COUNTY FAMILY YMCA

Dear YMCA Friends and Supporters:

As the Stanly County YMCA begins its 68th year, we are very

busy serving our community through programs focusing on

youth development, healthy living and social

responsibility. From our newest to our most seasoned

members, we continue to serve—making Stanly County a

better place to live and grow.

We cannot thank our YMCA Board, Foundation Board, and

Staff enough, as we continue to seek new ways to enhance

our YMCA both physically and programmatically. Please take

the time to look through the following pages where we

highlight what is most important to our existence. There are

literally hundreds of impact stories per year, and we so wish

we could tell you all of them. What we can tell you is that

none of these wonderful things could happen without the

support of all of you as volunteers and donors.

Please enjoy this evening as we say “thank you” for the tremendous support we have received in 2017. God Bless,

George Crooker CEO Stanly County Family YMCA

Dee Pankey Thompson Chairman Stanly County Family YMCA Board of Directors

DEDICATED to developing the future of our YOUTH, focusing on HEALTHY LIVING, and driving SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

ABOUT US

More than a pool or gym, the Y is a cause dedicated

to the positive development of youth, healthy living for all

people of all ages, and social responsibility in addressing

the critical needs of the communities we serve.

With programs from athletics to advocacy, dance to disease

prevention, and cycling to child care, the Y doesn’t just

strengthen individuals, we strengthen

communities.

The Stanly County Family YMCA is volunteer-led and is a

powerful advocate for the needs of children, families, and

individuals throughout our service area. While our programs

are based on the unique needs and interests of the

community, each holds center the most important aspect of

all: the people. The volunteers, staff, members, and donors

of the Y are all united by a deep commitment to strengthen

community and ensuring everyone– regardless

of age, income, or background - has the

opportunity to reach their fullest

potential.
