Here’s another version of the game. To win it, the two defenders have to bodily lift the ball-carrier and carry him out of the ring! THIS MONTH’S GAME WHAT’S NEEDED All you need is a rugby ball and cones to mark a round playing area approximately ten metres wide. You might also need a stopwatch. HOW TO PLAY Start with the ball-carrier in the centre of the circle, then send in his two opponents, start the clock – and let the contest begin. The defenders aren’t allowed to push, pull or drag the ball-carrier out of the ring. Instead, they must try to lift him clear of the ground and carry him out! Just like King of the Ring, Circle King is a fun and competitive strength and tness workout. TACTICS Time the contest to last between 30 and 90 seconds, depending on age. The ball- carrier should concentrate on making himself heavy, and do his best to stay on his feet. TAKE IT WITH YOU TO THE PARK MINISns.indd 92 19/09/2013 10:27
