This presentation is not for public use 2014 A Backpack (full of) Cultures dbut year The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia This presentation is not for public use PROJECT AIMS, GOALS AND GENERAL INFORMATION Art and culture in kindergartens and schools A Backpack (full of) Culture is a national supplementary programme of support to the elementary and high school curriculum related to arts and culture. The goal of the programme is the implementation of different arts and culture programmes, adjusted to meet the needs of children and youth in remote and, in terms of transport, poorly connected areas of Croatia. The programme aims at enabling access of children and youth to culture; helping children and youth understand culture; developing their aesthetic culture and their sensitivity to the field of arts and culture. Partnership between two political sectors/two ministries. The programme introduces pupils to artistic and cultural works/expression of high quality and high professional standards, covering the following areas: THEATRE FINE ARTS FILM MUSIC DANCE LITERATURE CULTURAL HERITAGE A particular feature of the programme is that it is implemented by professional artists and students of art academies supervised by their mentors. Given their age, students can develop a good rapport with children and youth. They can also be successful motivators to children and youth and develop their sensitivity to the field of arts and culture and encourage them to demonstrate a positive approach to all types of arts and culture. A Backpack (full of) Culture is a development programme that will last for 6 years, after which it will be implemented in the kindergarten, elementary school and high school curricula. The evaluation will be based on the following principles: PERMANENCE (durability, sustainability) of the PROGRAMME: A Backpack (full of) Culture is a continuous programme for children and pupils. PROGRAMME FOR PUPILS: A Backpack (full of) Culture is intended for children and pupils regardless of their social or economic status, ethnic or religious background and the type of kindergarten or school they attend. ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE OBJECTIVES OF THE NATIONAL CURRICULUM: The content must be aligned with the objectives of the national curriculum, including its specific areas. HIGH QUALITY LEVEL: The arts and culture programme offers the children and pupils a high level of artistic quality and professional standards. DIVERSITY: A Backpack (full of) Culture includes various forms of artistic and cultural expression from different cultural and historical periods. COMPREHENSIVENESS OF THE PROGRAMME: Music, theatre, visual and reproductive/performing arts, film, literature and cultural heritage are all included in the programme and presented in all forms. REGULARITY OF PROGRAMME IMPLEMENTATION: The programme must be implemented regularly in all kindergartens and schools once a year. CULTURE SCHOOL COOPERATION: The schools and the cultural sector at all levels must closely cooperate on the Backpack (full of) Culture programme. Schools must be included in programmes and be given a plan of foreseen activities. DIVISION OF ROLES: Between the schools and the cultural sector. RESPONSIBILITY AND INVOLVEMENT AT THE LOCAL LEVEL: Individual school responsibility, responsibility of the counties and municipalities participating in the programme for the purpose of strengthening the sense of inclusion of all stakeholders and enabling local variants of the Backpack (full of) Culture. FUNDING: A Backpack (full of) Culture is financed from the state budget.
