LEADER
Make a Commitment
Step 1
W= Create words, say it out loud
I = Use images or pictures to
imagine it
F = Feel what it will be like
M = Why does it matter?

Step 5
This was FUN!
One Person at a TimeReally Achieving Your Childhood Dreams by Randy Pausch
enabling the dreams of others can be even more fun”
Basic Belief: Our dreams matter, we have to help our students find their own internal compass and then show them how to go out and make it happen. The exposure, the experiences, being the person they can bounce ideas off of and having a mentor are critical to their success.
We provide the tools and something to
talk about but they need YOU!

Did you know...a little refresher
92% of middle school students say
they will attend college…
Of those students, only 32% know what classes are required in high school that would allow themto attend college.
93% of middle school students say
there is “no chance” they will drop out of high
school.
YET….29% of Californians age
18-24 DO drop out!
When surveyed, the majority of high school
dropouts say they began to “disconnect”
in middle school or earlier.
Many youth have already limited their career aspirations by the time they reach
middle school…largely due to sex-
stereotyped views of occupations.
Increase their self-esteem Higher attendance levelsParticipate in more higher level math and A.P. classesAre more likely to graduate from high schoolAre more likely to complete postsecondary educationAre more likely to succeed in the workplace
