Each game starts at a certain temperature with acertain combination ofsurvivors. The starting group of survivors and thestarting temperatureinfluences what items you find in the shelter.
The length of the war is determined by the starting
conditions. I've playedthrough Anton/Cveta and Boris/Emilia/Marin multipletimes and each finishedon the same day each time.
Other game conditions may be influenced by thestarting conditions such as
Firefighter Marko was fighting a losing battle withblazes until his firestation got destroyed and most of his team buddiesperished. With his familysafe in the countryside, he moved into an abandonedhouse to gather his witsand decided what to do next.
Anton and CvetaAnton and Cveta were friends back in high school,but their paths divergedafter graduation. Reunited by fate after losing
everything but their lives,they decide to stick together and hope that peoplewho knew them before thewar will help them survive this calamity.
Emilia, ZlataZlata, a student at the music academy, lost herparents. After the evacuationof her younger brother, she took Emilia, a lonesurvivor, under her wing.
Together, they decide to shelter in an abandonedhouse and hope for the best.
Katia and RomanFleeing from a thug, Katia has been saved by Roman,a former militia member.Later, her quick thinking and press badge savedthem both when theystumbled upon an army picket. They decide to ride
it out together despitetheir severe differences.
Emilia and RomanRoman was a frontline soldier, but having witnessedone execution too many, hedeserted. Emilia, a lawyer, used to live with her
father and sister in a poshvilla. She's the only one left from her family.Content with each other'scompany, at least for now, they find a slightlyless ruined house to hole upinside.
Arica, Bruno, RomanRoman used to fight for the rebels, but he becamedisillusioned and ran away.Arica came to the capital fleeing persecutions inher home town. Bruno has beencut off by the siege from his home and dearestfriend. Homeless, on the run,
and with nothing to lose but their lives, they bandtogether to survive.
Katia, Bruno, PavleKatia met both Pavle and Bruno before the war. Sheused to be a reporter, whileBruno has his own television cooking show. Pavlewas the star of the localfootball team. Katia even interviewed him once. Nowthey meet in dramatically
different circumstances, looking for food andshelter.
Bruno, Marko, Pavle (17*C)Bruno and Marko have always been good friends, sowhen the war broke out theydecided to stick together. They met Pavle whilescavenging for supplies. Heused to be Pogoren's star football player., and now
he's just another homelessvictim of war, so they teamed up, hoping for thebest.
Boris, Emilia, MarinMarin lost everything in a fire that destroyed hisworkshop. Boris and Emilia
once had families and now they are both the lonesurvivors. They come acrossa house that still offers some protection from theelements and decided toweather the siege together, inside its walls.
Arica, Katia, MarinMarin lost everything in a fire that destroyed hisworkshop. Arica fled to thecapital following the massacre of her town, only tofind the capital besieged.Katia, who came to report from the war zone, hasbefriended them in the queueat the water pump. With nowhere to stay, they
decide to make a ruinedbuilding their temporary home.
Anton, Cveta, Pavle, ZlataFew residents were lucky enough to flee. Theunlucky ones, like Zlata, Cveta,Anton and Pavle, who missed the last refugeeconvoy, are left to fend forthemselves. Ordinary people with no survivalskills, huddling in the ruins,

Survivors must eat food occasionally.
Eating a cooked meal or canned food counts as afull meal and will upgrade thestatus one level. If you are at Day 8 without foodand eat a cooked meal/cannedfood, the Hunger Status changes from Starving toVery Hungry. In two days, itdrops back down to Starving.
Eating raw food or vegetables counts as half a meal
and adds "Still" to theHunger Status.
---------Fatigue---------
Survivors must sleep periodically.
Sleeping in a bed for 6 hours upgrades the Fatigue
status by one level.
Once a survivor becomes exhausted, they will sleepautomatically during thenight if they are not out scavenging and be VeryTired the next day. Survivorswill automatically sleep even if they were put on
A survivor can become Extremely Exhausted if theywere Exhausted and sent outto help a neighbor during the day or if they aresent out scavenging at night.An Extremely Exhausted survivor is unable to takeany actions on their own andwould have to be taken care of by another survivor.
---------Illness---------
Survivors can become sick when the temperature inthe Shelter falls below 15*C.This is a random event. Some survivors start outsick or arrive at the Sheltersick.
A slightly sick survivor has a chance of fightingoff the illness if they cansleep in bed uninterrupted for a day and a night ina Shelter that is at least
15*C. This doesn't appear to work once a survivorbecomes Sick or worse.
Combining bedrest with herbal meds or medicationswill upgrade the status byone level per day.
A survivor that is Slightly Sick or Sick can behelped with Herbal Meds.
A survivor that is Severely Ill or Terminally Illcan only be helped withMedications.
A survivor can start out wounded, get woundedduring a night raid, gettinginto a fight with another survivor during thenight, or by fighting NPCs.
Wound progression is similar to Illnessprogression. A day and night of bedrestin a warm shelter has a chance of returning aslightly wounded survivor to anunwounded state.
Bandages are the only thing that can prevent woundsfrom becoming worse overtime.
------Mood------
Mood is dependent on the other health statuses, thehealth statuses of othersurvivors, night raids, interactions withneighbors, and choices made whilescavenging.
Mood goes from Content -> (nothing) -> Sad ->Depressed -> Broken. It iscurrently theorized that there are two levels ofSad and two levels ofDepressed just like the Hunger, Fatigue, Wounded,and Illness statuses.
There is a chance a Depressed Survivor will abandonthe shelter, sometimes
stealing items as they leave. Some Survivors willfight with other Survivorsin the shelter during the night. Roman especiallyis prone to fighting, butCveta has been known to start swinging as well.
themselves and can't be ordered toperform any actions. Other Survivors have to takecare of the Broken Survivor.If a Broken Survivor is the last Survivor, it'sgame over. A Broken Survivormay abandon the shelter or may commit suicide.
A Survivor can become Content after aiding aneighbor or rescuing civilians.
A Survivor can become Sad after stealing fromcivilians, killing one or twocivilians, witnessing another Survivor becomingVery Hungry, Severely Wounded,
Severely Ill, or Depressed. Consecutive nights ofraids, getting raided withoutweapons, or a Survivor getting wounded during anight raid can also cause aSurvivor to become Sad.
Once a Survivor becomes Sad, there are optionsavailable to return them to aneutral state.
Having Armchairs and the Survivor's preferredcomfort item available can helpSad Survivors return to a neutral state on theirown. Simply have the itemsavailable and leave the Survivor alone. TheSurvivor will attempt to read,smoke, or drink coffee on their own. Ordering aSurvivor to sit in an armchairdoesn't work.
Another option is to feed the Survivor to Well Fed.
You can also get a Sad Survivor drunk if you haveMoonshine or Pure Alcohol inthe Shelter. Select the Sad Survivor and click onthe upper right icon on the
Refrigerator. The Sad status is replaced by theDrunk status.
A Drunk Survivor can't be ordered to perform anyactions. The next day theDrunk Survivor becomes Hungover, but can function.
A Sad Survivor can become Depressed if thesituation does not improve. ADepressed Survivor may fight with other survivorsin the Shelter at night.A Depressed Survivor may have a sleepless night. ADepressed Survivor mayabandon the Shelter at night and can sometimes
steal valuable items whenthey leave. A Depressed Survivor may commit suicideduring the night.
You can have one Survivor talk to a DepressedSurvivor. This takes about 4hours and only works if the conversation isuninterrupted. A Depressed Survivorcan be talked with once per day. Sometimes thismakes a Depressed Survivor
return to a Sad state and sometimes it doesn't.
This may indicate that there are multiple levels ofmood or it may mean thatsome Survivors are less effective at bolstering thespirits of other Survivors.It may also mean that there's a chance that aDepressed Survivor becomes Sad.
You can also share a drink with a DepressedSurvivor. This gets the SurvivorDrunk. More importantly it can be done if theDepressed Survivor is unable toact on their own.
The Shelter is divided into 3 upper floors and 2basement levels.
The first floor (1F) has from west to east: themain door, a staircaseup to the second floor, a ladder going down to thebasement, a kitchen
with a refrigerator, and a bathroom with a medicinecabinet. The bathroomhas a hole in the floor that goes down to thebasement.
The second floor (2F) has the second floor landingthat starts with a rubblepile, a small sitting room with a rubble pile, andan empty bathroom. A ladder
in the sitting room goes up to the third floor.
The top floor (3F) has a bathroom with a lockedcabinet, a barricaded doorblocked by debris, a locked door, the top of theladder, and a debris pilethat blocks access to a wooden cabinet.
The first basement level (B1) is sort of the mainlevel of the shelter. Thewest room has a wooden cabinet, but the path isblocked by a locked door anddebris. The room at the bottom of the ladder hasthe starting Workshop. Thelarge east room has the ladder going down to B2 andtwo wooden cabinets.
There's a rubble pile at the bottom of the ladderin B2. The east room has alocked metal cabinet and two debris piles in thewest room. The large room to
the west of the ladder is empty. The east room hasa wooden cabinet, a debrispile, and another locked metal cabinet.
Most starts have a chair in the kitchen.
If you start with Anton and Cveta, there's anarmchair in the
sitting room and two beds in the east room onthe top floor.
If you start during the winter, then there's asimple heater
in the large room of B2.
Never take everything from the metal cabinet in theeast room of B2. Usethis metal cabinet as a storage locker. Currently,items left in a rubble
pile, or piece of furniture can't be stolen duringa night time raid. Thiswill probably be removed in a future patch, but fornow use the metalcabinet to store items before you go outscavenging.

Items do not have a fixed value and value canvary over time. Some itemslike coffee, cigarettes, medical supplies, and fuelcan experience shortagescausing a temporary spike in value. These shortagesare announced on the radio.Traders value items differently.
Katia has a trading bonus. She can trade withNPCs and get more in exchangethan other characters.
The lowest value item is Clean Water. The mostvaluable items are Bandages
and Medications (aka pills).
Items are divided into four tiers. The numberin parentheses shows how muchClean Water was needed to exchange for one itemwith Franko. Again, thesevalues can change so this just gives an approximateidea of the relative valueof items.

This table shows how many water are needed tochange the trading message. Notethat the number of items remained pretty consistentacross tiers. There'salways a bit of wriggle room when a Trader
initially approves a deal. You canadd a few water or maybe a component to even outthe trade.

Banditry is stealing private property from NPCs andcan escalate to combatand killing. Private Property is clearly marked bya hand grabbing icon and
a clear "Private Property" stamp in the itemwindow.
NPCs flag you as a bandit if they see you interactwith a lootable container.You do not necessarily need to steal an item.
You can steal private property without NPCsbecoming hostile as long as you're
not caught in the act.
Stealing can lead to a negative morale hit for somesurvivors. It depends onwho you steal from and what you steal. Stealingfood is generally viewednegatively. Stealing from civilians is usually seen
Contrary to popular opinion, it is best to limityour scavenging to only whatyou need until you have at least boarded up thethree holes in the Shelter.
There's time to build up the shelter. You can go
about 7 to 9 days beforestarving to death, or dying from illness ordisease. With minimal intervention,you can get to day 12 or 13 and still turn thingsaround for the better.
first day, just take Wood andComponents so you can build the bare necessities.This prevents losing preciousfood, medical supplies, electric parts, etc. whenyou get raided early on.
Keep people on guard during the night until youhave the Reinforced Door. Thisminimizes losses from night raids.
Knives are an effective defensive weapon againstnight raiders. You should haveat least one Knife for every person left in theShelter at a minimum.

1) Use a lockpick to enter the building
The building is full of armed guards. Attackinganyone in Central Square makeseveryone hostile and prevents further trading.Currently the layout of thebuilding is unknown, but assumed to be similar to
HOSPITAL"It's been shelled several times, there was a fireand numerous bandit raids.And yet, it still operates. Some wards still admitpatients and save lives,
mostly thanks to doctor Jelimow, a renownedsurgeon, who remains steadfastand keeps the others in line."
Bring a Shovel the next time you go to the hospitalin case the Hospitalhas been shelled. Search the rubble piles for 2Bandages and 4 Medications.You can keep the medical supplies or donate them tothe trader.
CONSTRUCTION SITE - SNIPERS (complete)"This abandoned construction site of a luxuryresidential area, which was tobecome the jewel of Pogoren, now serves themilitary snipers as a perfectvantage point, making it a dangerous place to

The Quiet House is occupied by an elderly man andwoman. There is no way tosneak into the house as the old man will alwaysspot you once you open thefront door. Stealing from them leads to a drop inmorale for the Survivors.Neither occupant will attack.

This, in turn, is in a way responsible for theimpact the war had on me. Iwas trying to protect my brightest students formonths, only to become awitness to them being killed ruthlessly.

After the destruction of the university, we ran andhid. We lived in basementsfor endless months. We crawled through darkpassages and hunted vermin todelay starvation. I saw my pupils go mad from fear,lack of hope, anddeprivation. We huddles together in cellars likeworms under a stone, listeningto the roar of explosions, waiting for mercifuldeath.

Day 18 (Anton, Cveta, Pavle, Zlata)I used to teach young people mathematics. It's hardto find more useless skillto have in times like these. But I know how to set
a trap and cook a rat! Nota day without learning something, as I used to sayto my students. They areall gone... slaughtered like cattle, or worse, foryou don't terrorize animalsbefore slaughter. It spoils the taste.
Day 27 (Anton, Cveta, Pavle, Zlata)After the destruction of the campus, I hid with mystudents in abandonedhouses on the riverfront. We managed to survivethere for a while, huntingrats for food. We punched passages in the basementwalls to move from house
to house safely, as the shelling and snipers wereunrelenting. But the dampdarkness and constant fear of being buried alivedrove some brilliant mindsinto insanity.

students' sacrifice, he did notmanage to survive. The Theorems he could prove, thestudents he could leadand inspire -- all gone.
Blue EndingOne night, Anton waited patiently for the rightmoment and slipped out the doorunnoticed. His further fate is unknown.
Black EndingAnton managed to stay alive but war scarred him forlife. He never again foundthe courage to attach emotionally to anyone anddevoted himself entirely tothe pursuit of abstract knowledge.
While war left deep marks on Anton's character, hereturned to teaching withnewfound determination. And while too old for theFields Medal, he's stilleligible for the equally prestigious Abel Prize.

Gray EndingArica survived the war, though remained mistrustfulof others. The horrorsshe'd witnessed made it difficult for her to findfriends. She was afraid ofstarting a family, not believing she'd make a goodparent.
White ending
After the war Arica gave her father a symbolicfuneral, and kept his picture.Despite the horrors she witnessed, she managed tostart a family and tried tobe a better parent than her father had been.
Day 6 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)I had a beautiful girlfriend, Ana. We had a kid. A
wonderful son. Luka wasjust like me, he was only seven and alreadystronger than all the other kids.I bet he would've grown up to become a greatweightlifter, as I always wantedto be. If I had saved him.
Day 14 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)When we were hiding in the basement, after they hitour house, we quickly
ran out of food and had very little water. I couldnot move much because ofmy foot. Ana saved us both. She was a great mother,a real hero. Ana used togo out at night and she was bringing us everythingwe needed.
Day 22 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)One day Luka fell ill with the runs, turned out
he'd drunk water from a puddle."I'm sorry daddy, I ate peanuts and I was terriblythirsty". Salted peanuts.This is not proper food for a child. Soon, he wasgetting weaker by the hour.Ana said she'd get him some meds. She must've feltguilty for she didn't bother
Red EndingLuck has finally abandoned Boris, not much of asurprise for him. His strengthwas not enough to keep him alive. In a justuniverse, he'd be with his son now.
Blue EndingBoris couldn't take it anymore and took his ownlife, haunted by the memoryson's and girlfriend's fate. Maybe he is reunited
with them now.
White EndingBoris won over everything that war threw at him andused his grit and strengthto help others rebuild their lives. The memory ofAna's sacrifice and Luka'sfaith supported him till the end of his days.

Gray endingAfter the ceasefire Bruno went looking for hisfriend. Her neighborhood sawheavy fighting and most of the houses had been
reduced to ruins, but shefound shelter in the basement which held. Eatingrats and scavenged scraps offood, she somehow managed to survive. Bruno feltresponsible for her misery.He has never forgiven himself.
White EndingAfter the ceasefire Bruno set off looking for hisfriend. Her neighborhood
saw heavy fighting and the majority of housing hadbeen reduced to ruins, butshe found shelter in the basement which somehowheld. Despite the hardshipsshe managed to survive and was happy to see Brunoalive as well. They remainfriends to this day.
Day 7 (Anton and Cveta)It's terribly quiet here, don't you think?... Ah,no, of course not, what withall the shooting and bombing. I just mean... Thisis my job conditioningshowing. I'm afraid. You see, I'm a teacher. Anelementary school principal.

Day 14 (Anton and Cveta)With the start of the siege, the attendance fell,as many parents chose to
keep their kids home. One young man advised me tocover the windows withmattresses from the gym. "That's silly. Childrenneed the light to read", Isaid, "and besides, it's not like anyone is goingto target the school!"
Day 21 (Anton and Cveta)Parents were right. Just ti appease their fears, I
moved the classes to moresheltered rooms. And that saved the children whenthe army landed a shellright in front of the school -- the window pansshattered, but the hail ofglass shards fell on empty benches and seats. Wecovered the windows after
Red EndingWhat answers could have Cveta found for all thedifficult questions her pupilswould pose, had she lived to see the end of thewar? Now the children willhave to find them on their own.
Blue EndingCveta quietly left the shelter, leaving no wordbehind. She somehow managed to
survive the war, but didn't return to teaching.
Blue EndingBitter, unable to face the harsh reality of war anylonger, Cveta committedsuicide. Her students will have to relay on someoneelse to help them recoverfrom the trauma of war.
White Ending
The war didn't extinguish the flame that droveCveta to give everything to hercalling. And one day, she got a visit from a formerpupil -- the same who madea frantic call one Friday to make sure that his oldschool had really beenevacuated.
Day 8 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)We lived in an expensive villa, with spaciousbright rooms and large windows.To protect ourselves from stray bullets andsplinters, we installed a doublebed and a small heater in a cozy dressing room onthe ground floor. We spentmost of our time there, talking, listening to musicand playing games to
stave off boredom.
Day 8We lived in a large standalone house, whosespacious bright rooms with largewindows became uninhabitable due to constantshooting and shelling. That iswhy we confined ourselves to one windowlessdressing room on the ground floorwhich could hardly fit one double bed and a small
heater. We spent most of ourtime there, going out only to the toilet.
Day 16 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)When the banks closed, father opened the safe boxand pulled out a small chest."Cheer up, girls", he said, "we aren't broke yet!"Then he went to themarketplace and brought back fresh peaches. He kept
trading jewelry for foodevery day. We also received humanitarian aid, likeeverybody else. So it wasn'tbad, apart from the isolation. But father wanted usto be safe.
Father went to the marketplace every day to barterour deceased mother'svaluables for food and other necessities. He alsotook humanitarian aid,though it must have been humiliating for him. Mysister and I hardly wentout at all. He wanted us safe. Because we had longhair and no running water,we started having problems with lice.
Day 24 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)One day father fell ill, so I had to go to themarket. My fears provedunfounded, as nothing happened to me on the way.
But when I was cominghome, I saw smoke over our street. Our house was onfire. I couldn't getinside, the smoke was too thick. Dreading theworst, I started calling myfather and sister. Nobody answered. Then I foundthem in the backyard.
Day 32 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)My father and sister were dead. The neighbors told
me that the militiamembers entered the house claiming they werelooking for Grazni informants.They interrogated and killed my family beforesetting fire to the house.They took everything valuable that was still there.I'm sure it was thereal reason for their visit.
Day 32 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)My father and sister were shot dead. Some ragtagmilitiamen entered the houseclaiming there were looking for enemy informants.They took my father andsister to the garden and shot them. The neighborssaid that they didn't even
bother to interrogate anyone. Instead, they hadcleaned the house of anythingvaluable.

Gray EndingKatia used her contacts to find her parents in arefugee camp abroad. Shereturned to her city, but they refused and onceagain they were separated.After a few years they passed away and only thendid Katia find the

Marin appears to have two slightly differentstories
Day 3 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)People treasure their possessions now. In the past,they just tossed outanything that broke. I had a hard time living offmy workshop. Customerswere dropping by once or twice a day, mostly like
that old lady who hadbeen using the same iron since she was a youngbride and the world wasbrighter... But there were exceptions.
Day 11 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)One day a little boy brought his action figure with
a broken arm. You can'tglue that kind of plastic. Oh my, I said. This isserious, and his eyes welledup and I had no heart to turn him down, so I justtold him to return the nextday. I fixed it -- trade secret -- and when he sawit, his smile lit up thewhole room. I don't know what became of him. Thetoy I found in the streetafter all went to hell.
Day 19 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)I was asked to make a set of burglary tools. Irefused. Money was good, but
I wanted none of it. I wish I knew those customerswouldn't take "no" for ananswer. They came for me when I was upstairs withmy wife, fast asleep. Ifigure they couldn't force the shop door, so theyjust tossed a Molotovthrough our window. Our bedroom window.

When the thugs came for me, we... I was takenupstairs, fast asleep, and theshop door was locked. I know my doors and locks, sothey just tossed a Molotovthrough the bedroom window.
Day 27 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)I don't even know how I escaped. My wife didn't.All I cared about was burnedto the ground. Every now and then I think aboutthat boy. Where is he now?What is he doing? Is he still alive? If he is, I'mgonna find him one day.
Day 27 (Boris, Emilia, Marin)The flames were everywhere. I grabbed the sheetsand tried to, tried to, youknow. Smother the fire. But her hair -- everythingwas burning. Everything wasburned down. I escaped. I don't know how. I wish Ihad taken that job.

Day 7 (Marko)Day 9 (Bruno, Marko, Pavle)Everyone should choose one happy memory. And itcan't just be good, it hasto be grand. When it gets so bad you just want to
sit down and cry, whenyour life seems forfeit, you close your eyes and goback to your happymoment. It's not easy, but you have to try.
We were called to a tenement fire. I was still thenew one on our team. Wejust started assembling the hoses, when a residentshouted that there wassomeone inside. I donned the mask, went in andcarried out a young lady.Long story short, we got married soon after. Hername was Alina.
Day 21 (Marko)Day 27 (Bruno, Marko, Pavle)Alina gave me two beautiful girls. We were sohappy. When the war broke out,we decided they would be safer at my mother's house
in the country. I stayedwith my team to help people. We thought all thiswould be over in a coupleof weeks. It's been almost three years now. Phonesare dead, so I've beensending letters through anyone leaving the city.
Day 28 (Marko)I've got no reply yet and I'm really worried. But Ihave to trust that Alina
and the girls are fine and that everything is goingto be alright, or I'llgo mad. When this siege is over, I'll find them nomatter what and I won'tlet anything separate us ever again. I hope thatone day we can forget thiswar ever happened and think of it as just a baddream.
Day 36 (Bruno, Marko, Pavle)I've had no word from them for months now. There isno way to reach them, nophones, no mail. I've tried to give letters tostrangers, but haven't heardback. I'm starting to lose hope that I'll ever seemy Alina and my daughters
alive. And this slowly drives me crazy. I wish Icould get my hands onwhoever started this madness.

through scarred them forever. Marko never spoke ofthe horrors he'd witnessed,either. Would life ever be normal again?
White EndingAfter the war, Marko found his family, who managedto avoid the worstatrocities hidden away by a friendly countryfamily. They came back to
Pogoren along with other people. Normalcy returnedto the city. Buildingswere rebuilt. Schools and shops reopened. Life wenton.

Life will find a way. So myboy formed a football team. They trained in a darkbasement. They were socommitted and came up with an idea to organize aPogoren cup. We invited threeother teams, but there was a significant problem wehad to overcome.
Day 32 (Zlata, Anton, Cveta, Pavle)Day 31 (Bruno, Marko, Pavle)
The sports hall survived the shelling, but to getthere we needed to cross thebridge under Grazni sniper fire. The Peacekeepersrefused to help us with theirarmored transport, so one night we just made a wildrun for it. We didn't makeit. They were just kids! How can anyone shoot atkids? Next day, my wife tookhim abroad. She was furious. I don't think I'll
ever see them again.
Day 32 (Zlata, Anton, Cveta, Pavle)The sports hall survived the shelling, but to getthere we needed to cross thebridge under Grazni sniper fire. The Peacekeepersrefused to help us with their
armored transport, so we waited for a foggy nightand just made a wild run forit. We made it safe. There weren't many spectators,but it was still the mostmemorable football cup of my life... My boy was sohappy. Next day, my wifemanaged to escape with him abroad. I'll see themagain when this is over.

Black EndingPavle survived the war. He tried to find his wifeand son, but despite his bestefforts he could not trace them. He decided to stayin Pogoren hoping his sonwould find him there one day. That day never came.
Pavle survived the war. After months of searching,despite numerousdifficulties, he managed to find his wife and son,who had sought refugein France. He went there to live with them. Theynever came back to Pogoren.
Day 6 (Roman, Arica, Bruno in Summer)Ever since the fighting started, I was in the thick
of it with my unit. Theassholes from the HQ let us rest only when aquarter of my people were dead.And they sent us to Pogoren of all places, wheresoon the carnage wasworse than at the front line.
Day 15 (Roman, Arica, Bruno in Summer)The worst thing about the fights in Pogoren was
that you never knew if theman whom you passed in the street wasn't workingfor the enemy. So I toldmy men to be extra suspicious. Better to shoot onemore guy than let thefucker turn around and stab you in the back.
Day 24 (Roman, Arica, Bruno in Summer)After we finished carving up the city betweenourselves and the enemy, thingsgot even uglier. Entire groups of civilians werebrought in for questioningand much too often shot so as not to leavewitnesses behind, I guess. Iwanted no part of that. I'm a fighter, not amurderer.

I was at the front line since the shit got serious.My unit was always thefirst to go in and the last to get out. After Ilost a quarter of my men, theelders decided we needed some R&R. That's how Iwound up in Pogoren, whereall was quiet. It was not to last.
Day 8 (Katia and Roman)The battle for Pogoren was short and ugly. When the
man in the street canturn out to be th enemy, people start... takingprecautions. Like shootinganyone who looks at them funny. I'm not saying Idid that, but I was theminority.

Red EndingAs so many other tough-as-nails guys, Roman didn'tmake it. His motivationswill remain unknown to his buddies, and some ofthem still think he betrayedthem.
Blue EndingRoman disappeared from the shelter one night,leaving no note. He survived thewar but was soon arrested for murder and sentencedto fifteen years in prison.
Black EndingRoman survived the war. Tortured by his past, hestarted doing hard drugs anda few years later died of drug-related healthproblems.
White EndingAfter the war, Roman sought out his former buddies
and much to his greatrelief learnt that most of them admired his courageand the decision hemade. He returned to his neighborhood and became aleader of the localcommunity.
Day 3 (Zlata, Anton, Cveta, Pavle)The army is trying to break the rebels' morale withthis incessantbombardment, but it's the civilians like us thatsuffer the most. Whenyou've been under fire for so long, you learn to
predict where a mortarshell will fall by the sound it makes. I'd neverhave thought about it,but one fateful day changed everything.
Day 12 (Zlata, Anton, Cveta, Pavle)The heat was intense and people were lining up forwater. I was there withmy parents and Tadei. Suddenly, there was a flashand I lost consciousness.Later I learned that a mortar shell exploded amongus, wounding me and mybrother and killing my parents. I had to explain tomy brother that they
were gone. Can you imagine losing your parents atthe age of six?
Day 12 (Zlata, Anton, Cveta, Pavle)The heat was intense and people were lining up forwater. I was there withmy parents and Tadei when a shell exploded amongus. When I got up andlooked around, there were screams... blood... deadbodies everywhere...
severed limbs... My brother was bleeding, crying,asking me where mommy anddaddy were. I looked around, then hugged him andstarted to scream.
Day 21 (Zlata, Anton, Cveta, Pavle)I don't recall how we got to the hospital. Theytook out lots of shrapnelfrom our bodies. I became apathetic in the
aftermath. Our neighbors startedlooking after my brother, because I'd lost the willto live. I kept thinkingthat I had cheated fate on that day. I no longerhid when I heard a shell.And then Tadei was taken from me.
Day 21 (Zlata, Anton, Cveta, Pavle)Doctors did a great job patching us up. We spent afew weeks in the hospitalrecovering, both physically and mentally. We werelucky that we survived, andwe had each other. Our neighbors were helping melook after Tadei, becauseinitially I had trouble catching up with him! Thenhe got his lucky ticket.

and full of life. Wouldshe resume her music studies had she survived?Maybe the world lost a famousmusician or composer.
Black EndingThe war changed Zlata. She survived, but lost heroptimism and cheerfulness.She decided against joining her brother. "I wouldonly remind him of past
horrors," she explained. "No, it will be better ifI stay in Pogoren. Someoneneeds to tend to our parents' grave."
Gray EndingZlata survived the war, but reaching Canada provedmore difficult than she'danticipated. Despite the difficulties, she remainsdetermined and still
believe she will see Tadei again one day.
White EndingZlata survived the war and was reunited with herbrother in Canada. It tookher some time to adjust to the new reality, but shefound a job, and even
