RE-Submissions/Re-dos: Late work Policy: Should I have taken otherart classes prior to this?

Depends. Students will receive two late work passes for the entire semester. This will allow work to be turned in late up to one week without penalty. After the late period, assignmens will be assigned a grade of an E. If students are absent the day an assignment is due, it is students responsibility to show it to the teacher the day they return. If students missed class the day a major project is due, yet were still in school it is your responsibility to nd the teacher and turn your project in, or it will be marked late. Students missing a project deadline will have a ‘missing’ and a “1” entered as a grade.. If for some reason you feel that you cannot make a deadline, please come speak to the teacher BEFORE the project is due.

We learn more from our mistakes than we do from our successess, and a willingness to admit we have room to grow is the hallmark of any great artist. If you get a grade back you’re not happy with, don’t stress out-- simply consider its critique or ask for help, then resubmit within one week. If you are willing to give it the time and eort art demands, even an “E” can change to an “A.”

** Resubmissions must be turned in within one week from the time the assignment was returned. After one week, resubmissions will not be accepted.

For best chances of success, students should have already taken one or more art classes and passed with a B or higher. Experience is art classes outside of school could substitute for previous TJHS classes. IB Art is a rigorous class. It requires mostly self-driven work, organization, and time-management skills. You should expect to push your art skills beyod its’ limits and engage in work that is not in your comfort zone.
