The goal of this project is to provide an additional form of transport and connectivity for people of the Narragansett bay region of Rhode Island. A ferry terminal in this location can link togther all the major cities and towns of the bay. It will become a location people will use for travel and as a waterfront destination for Providence. In addition it will revitalize one of rhode islands most valuable resources; the waterfront. The current site conditions consist of an abandoned nightclub, a parking lot and a light industrial boating business. The site is adjacent to I-195 and India Point Park. This park space currently ends where the site begins. A prominent building on this location will define Fox Point and create an icon for the city of Providence.

Chapel Narrative This building is about the connection between the Earth and the sky above through physical form and view creation. The ground level of the building relates back to the campus in terms of the creation of public seating areas and common spaces for people to occupy. These spaces exist where the building cuts into the topography of the site. This occurs with the form of the building being broken apart by planes and walls. At the junction of these structures the level space to be occupied is created. It is a representation of man’s intervention on the existing environment. These public spaces relate back to the campus and its many common seating areas between and around buildings. The building creates a visual connection to the Andes seen in the distance. The form comes out of the ground suddenly and interrupts the conditions of the site in such a way a mountain range meets a valley. The religious spaces inside the building are partially below the ground level. This creates a connection with the Earth and the visible sky above. Inside the spaces it is possible to see the world above but not at eye level. Views are created of the distant mountains and the sky and are framed in particular places of the building. The spaces where the view is framed create a sense of wonder of what exists between where the viewer is and what they actually see. These spaces also reach up high and become places of contemplation. The exterior of the building pertains to university conditions while the interior relates to the individual and their personal thoughts
