Respect Responsibility Effort
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Sympathy to the Briggs Family
On behalf of the TPS school community, I would like to express our sincere sympathy to Melinda, Tyson and
Mekayla Briggs. Matthew Briggs died on Sunday 27th July 2019 after a long battle with illness.
Many of you will remember Matt helping out around the school, especially on sausage sizzle days and he will
be remembered for his many generous actions around the school.
The school has sent flowers to Melinda on behalf of our TPS community and representatives of the school will
attend the funeral to pay our respects to Matthew and to support Melinda, Tyson and Mekayla.
Parent Opinion Surveys
Our thanks to the 10 families who have completed the online Parent Opinion survey. 72 surveys were sent out
to a computer generated selection of families,. So that means that 62 families have not yet completed the
survey.
All survey responses are anonymous so there is no way for the school to know which families have or have not
completed the survey. This is your opportunity to let your child’s school and teachers know what you like
about the school or what you think needs to be changed.
The Parent Opinion survey remains open until Sunday 11th August.
School Camp
This week we have 51 students and 4 members of staff attending the DOXA camp at Malmsbury. Mr Gualano,
Mrs Thermos, Miss O’Donnell and Mr Francis will be accompanying our Grade 4, 5 and 6 students on the 3
day camp. Camps provide wonderful opportunities for children to experience a very different environment.
100 Days of School Celebration
On Thursday July 25th, we celebrated 100 days of school for our Foundation (Prep) students. It was a fabulous
day and students and staff should be so proud of all the learning that has happened in the 100 days they have
been together. Thank you to all the parents who attended the class celebrations—your children love
sharing their school celebrations with the most important people in their lives.
2020 Foundation (Prep) Enrolments
Foundation (Prep) enrolments for 2020 are now being accepted. Please notify Anne or Nahla in the school
office if you are intending to enrol your child for 2020. You will need to complete an enrolment form and
provide your child’s birth certificate and immunization documentation. These documents will be photocopied
and the originals returned to you.
To start school in 2020 your child must turn 5 years of age before 30th April 2020.
Road Safety
I am very concerned about the safety of our students on the roads around our school, especially during the after
school period. Unfortunately some parents are ignoring the parking signs, parking in and across driveways,
performing illegal u-turns in front of oncoming traffic and calling their children to cross the road rather than to
use the school crossing.
Please help us to protect the lives of our students by carefully considering where you are parking and by
observing the 40kmh speed limit in the streets around our school.

Working bee We need help on Saturday 17th August between 1pm and 3pm.
We are planning to have the grand opening of the garden on
Saturday 26th October (put it in your diary) and need to get the garden looking
good before then.
So on Saturday, we’re hoping to:
Finish weeding
Spread the mulch
Fill the garden beds with soil
Plant some flowers and veggies
Prune the fruit trees
Have some afternoon tea.
If you can bring a wheelbarrow, that would be a great help.
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday 17th August.
