Cincinnati Museum Center’s Exhibit Programmer describes
this exhibit as her favorite…
“I will remember Walden as the exhibit designed
for everybody! It is an exhibit of discovery!”
“I visit Walden everyday, not only to monitor if the coloring pencils are sharpened, but also, to imagine what Thoreau heard, smelled, touched, and thought as he explored this beautiful piece of heaven on earth.”
“Scot Miller’s photographs capture the pure
essence of nature’s inspirational beauty.”

“The younger visitors gather
with their adults to
explore the discovery table. The discussion begins with,
‘What is that?’ Followed by,
‘I’ve seen that before’ or ‘Can we go look for
that?’ The snakeskin
repeatedly gets a ‘That’s cool’.”
“As I observe older visitors in the exhibit, they pause at each picture to share their feelings with their partner, old or young. They discuss the colors, or give a sigh of awe when they realize they’re looking at an acorn cap and not an intricately hand carved or woven basket.”
DVD and face panel are included.
Venue must provide audiovisual equipment.
“Who would think a picture of moss could hold a visitor’s interest longer than several seconds at
most?”
“Many visitors take the
opportunity to share a thought
and drawing of their personal
Walden for us to post
in the exhibit.”
“The exhibit encourages every visitor to slow down and experience the wonder of color, sounds, smells and sights of the peaceful environment nature has to offer all of us.”
