1 Perch
The beginning of yet another day,The sun just about rising from the horizonThe breeze gently caressing the trees,The only sound the chirping of birds,Likely dishing out instruction to their babes,All was cool and all was beautiful,
Especially the crow of the father cock,Loudly and boldly declaring for the world to hear:Its the beginning of yet another day.
Its also the hour of prayer,While many still rolled and turned in bed,Others hoping the cocks crow were a dream,But of course many others wide awake,Knowing the day would be a full one,Wisely lay all at The Masters feet,Believing it was the wisest action to take.I had joined the insignificant number of people,
Who believe a prayerless day means vanity,I launched out to speak with The Expert,Relishing in the wonderful beauty of nature,But while in the middle of prayer,My eyes fell on and beheld,A spectacle that looked out of place,Instinctively I paused to look,Standing so still and attentive,My reaction felt so funny to me,And I simply remembered the fact that,Its meant to be the hour of prayer.
The spectacle, how could I forget?Standing all alone amidst the greenery,Other trees swinging to and fro,Birds singing in them in carols,Was a tree without a single leaf,With branches all dry and piney,The kind a food-seller would rejoice over,Almost the image of many men,

With arms extending all around,But all destined with only one leg,It was a spectacle to behold,Still realizing its a time to pray,Curiosity made me look beyond the faade,And what I saw made me ruminate,That spectacle, how could I forget?
It sat and looked all around,
Perch, a better description of the posture,So still and silent and broody,So determined a look for a bird,Perched on the tree that stood alone,As if their destinies were linked,More like the rejected and the outcast,It must have felt all alone in the world,But the alone-ness was not the attraction,It was the look of absolute determination,
As if saying, Youll all beproven wrong,It sat and probably
observed the wind,Almost blending in withthe tree,But I knew it had chosenthe right spot,A place that would bringthe greatest surprise,
It must have had the mind of philosophy,And it must have nurtured a feeling at heart,A surprise entry never fails,While I still looked on and beheld,
It sat and looked all around.
All through the day I wondered,Having laid my anxiety before Him,The perching bird always coming to mind,No matter how hard I tried,The thought kept surfacing again,Trying to comprehend what I saw,
Dont make themistake of thinking
being chosen by Godtranslates to being
treated preferentiallyby people. The gifted
is not alwayspeoples favorite.

A beautiful scene, yet hard to feel,Then suddenly it hit me,At a time I least expected,I clearly saw me in the bird,My life in a drama before my eyes,So many others having the same storyline,A small smile brought radiance to me,Knowing the latter part was the best,Fully aware that whatever it looks like,
Tomorrow still holds the great promises,Like a little girl nudging her mother,A quiet thought brought smiles to my face,
Just as I finished praying earlier on,The bird left the position of perch,Having considered and carefully observed,Other birds watched in great amazement,As the bird arose and flew higher above.
The Pain of being chosen (The Story)Ps 118:22-23
The stone which the builders rejected has become the chiefcornerstone. This was the LORD's doing; It is marvelous in oureyes.
I wrote this piece at a time in my life when I had started toask questions about my person. I felt out of place, like Idid not belong. It was at a time when I was looking forexpression, and all around me I could not find anyone toreally relate with, to connect to.
It happens! Especially when you are special! There are times when you feel so alone, so segregated, asif you were an outcast. And in this case, not because ofany deformity or plague or anything that is of your doing.Thats when it gets so confusing. You look at yourself andyou begin to wonder, what am I doing wrong? The natural reaction is to get depressed and downcast. Igot so. So did Mary. She got pregnant out of marriage, and the betrothed husband was not responsible for thepregnancy! Naturally, she was out-casted. The friends she

used to hang out with all turned their back on her. Herfamily must have felt ashamed of her. Even if they lateron accepted her, every now and then they must havereminded her how ashamed they were of her. Walking inpublic became an ordeal for her. I can bet some men whohad initially asked her out must have then become verysarcastic and called her a slut. The town nonentities mustthen have made passes at her as they now believed shewas a cheap whore.
And what was her offence? She was chosen! She wasgifted! She was blessed! She was special!
Dont make the mistake of thinking being chosen by Godtranslates to being treated preferentially by people. Thegifted is not always peoples favorite. Theyd be enviousof your gift, and theyll hate you for being chosen overthem. Their short-sightedness will becloud them so muchthat they will fail to see their own uniqueness, and thusget extremely jealous of your own calling! How do you think Jesus felt while growing up? Each time
He passed people would point at Him and say, Theregoes Marys mistake, Thats that bastard, Behold
Josephs burden. It must have felt terrible paying for anoffence you never committed! But it had to be so!
God would often set you apart when He has greatresponsibilities for you. He does not want you to becorrupted by the reasoning and thinking of the world. Hewants you to have your total dependence on Him alone. So its no punishment, its just a time of training. Davidwould explain that better to you. He was relegated to thewilderness while his elder brothers enjoyed the comfort
and warmth of the house. He was practically ex-communicated. But, he also became the King above hiselder. His separation paid off!
I felt all alone, so different, so odd. But then God showedme that there cant be a revelation without isolation.Hang in there, you are different, you are special, and youare about to break forth!

2 I criedMy birth into a strange land,Ever thing looking strange and fearful,Many giants grinning wickedly,Poking me with oversized fingers,All eyes on me, speaking of doom:Well see whatll become of you.
I cried.
Bruises and blood on the right knee,Profits of a friendly football match;Strokes and strokes on my bare back,Profits of thinking like an adult:Sharp salt on my smarting injury.I cried.
Grades less than my potential,Pursuing a career, void of zeal;My future looking so bleak and obscure,
Knowing Im much better than this:Pre-requisites of an impending doom.I cried.
Loss of audience and many followers,Aftermath of a courtship turned sour,Gripped, distressed and torn apart,Sentenced even without a hearing,Why wouldnt people simply understand?I cried.
But Ive learnt lessons from all these,You are not the mistakes youve made,The beginning is not the end,What counts is Gods perspective of you:A world of possibilities.Ill smile.

Weep Not, Child. (The Story)Psalms 30:5 Weeping may endure till the night, but joy comes
in the morning
What counts is not really the beginning, what counts is
the end. The beginning of great things is not always big. A
tree was once a seedling. It started with just a tiny seed. It
takes years for it to get to the level of recognition and
significance.
Youll face situations in life that try to dampen your spirit
and fill you with negativity, situations that will sometimes
put tears in your eyes. Sometimes youll find yourself in a
tight corner as regards making decisions, because you
know your decision will not only affect you, it will affect
many people whom you have influence over. Such
decisions are imperative. Sometimes you MUST make
them, as everyone is accountable to God, not fellow
mortals.
I looked back at my life and all the experiences therein; I
realized that many of those situations had made me shed
tears. Id had to make decisions that made me look
monstrous, decisions that affected a lot of people. I felt
bad that people would judge without even giving you a
hearing, even if its an unfair one.
However, the decisions had been made, and although
many dont love it, they cant do anything about it. Truth
is, if they were wearing the same shoe, they would have
made the same decisions. Our uniqueness is a function of
the decisions we make. When it has to do with destiny,
fulfillment and your future joy, never put man first before
you make a choice, rather let God be in charge of the
rudder.

3 Tehila
Vanity upon vanity,
Life is nothing but vanity,
So thinks the man with no trace of purpose,
Devoid of vision and life ambitions,
Life so lack luster and full of gloom,
A man with no iota of gratitude at all,Can only see the darkness in the night.
But for me, Ill never be disillusioned,For I know theres more to life than this,Embedded in the heart of the greatest of all,Master of the universe, King of all,Help when needed, comfort at a beckon,In Him we live, in Him we move,In Him we have the entirety of our being.
All I need do is be acquitted with Him,
Recognizing Him as the Lord of all,Not for the gift but the giver Himself,Ill raise my arms and hallow His name,Ill holler and shout as if Im insane,For indeed the reason for my being alive,Is to declare the praise of His name alone.
Tehila, Tehila, a song of praise,Worship entrustment, meant for the grateful,Even when it seems theres no hope at all,Thats when Ill sing a song, Tehila, Tehila!
Life could be vanity, nothing but vanity,But when its beheld through the eyes of hope,Faced with a gratitude for the fact that its there,Embraced with the optimism of a woman in labor,Looked upon with eyes full of gratefulness,Thanks to the One able to do abundance,More than we think, ask or imagine,Then the surety can be there in the mind of all,

As it often turns out, true worshippers always enjoy
special grace from God. His medium of transportation is
worship, His habitation is praises. He would not allow
anyone tamper with the fellows who provide His
habitation!
When praises go up, blessings come down, true talk! But
at the same time when you give Him praise because of
what youre expecting to get from Him, thats calledpatronage! Then youre nothing but a sycophant. Praise
Him because of who He is to you.
Tehila means to lift up both hands in worship, invariably
saying, I surrender all to you, Lord. Learn to lift
everything to God in worship. Dont grumble, dont
compare, and dont mumble. Praise will give you a raise.
Even when youre down, praise Him!

44.. II wwiisshh......I wish I was a loner,With an ability to survive all alone,Needing nobody at all,And needed by none, I wish I could live forever,All by myself.
Safe from the prying eyes of others,
From the probing noses of family,Saved the agony of forever involvement,Always asked how are you?Sleep and wake at my own pace,I wish I could live forever,All by myself.
A lone tree standing tall,Its root firm and deep in the soil,Needing no friends nor foes,Devoid of reliance on others,Total annihilation quite welcome,
I wish I could live forever,All by myself.
Then I could avoid all involvements,I could make decisions consulting no-one,I could lounge, work or play at will,With no-one to ask, "what doest thou?"No fear of rejection nor hurt emotions,I wish I could live forever,All by myself.
But nobody can survive as an island,
Needing and needed by none,Friends and families alike,Though atimes could be a burden,Make a man who he is,Even the dead in the pit of the earth,Accompany themselves till their fate is known.

One Forest, several trees! (The Story)Heb 10:24-25And let us consider one another in order to stir up love andgood works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together,as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and somuch the more as you see the Day approachingMark 5:3Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man couldbind him, no, not with chains
Have you ever felt like just being on your own, safe fromthe prying eyes of family and friends? Just be by yourselfall day long. Well, youre not alone! There are severalothers out there who feel just the same way! They want tobe an island, live life with no supervision, no rules, noguidance, norestrictions. Assweet as thatsounds, its a ployof the devil!
Mark 5 tells TheStory of a manwho was plaguedwith a legion ofunclean spirits.Verse 3 recordsthat he could notlive in the midst ofhumans again, buthe dwelt in thetombs. He wasseparated. He wasalienated from people who could be of help or take helpto him. He was estranged.
One of the tools of the devil when he wishes to attack achild of God is to first separate him. There is a fightstrategy known as divide and rule. The idea behind thisstrategy is to eliminate the opponent by first dividing
When you start feelingthe need to be all on
your own, no more needfor instruction, no moreneed for guidance, youhad better be careful.
When you startdeveloping a pompousattitude towards your
pastor, your boss, yourspouse, and you develop
an I-can-do-it-by-myself attitude, watchout, destruction is lyingdown at your doorstep.

them into smaller groups. One way to do this is to sowdiscord into the midst of the target audience. This willmake them not to be in accord and eventually theylldisband. At that point, theyre sitting ducks for theenemy. Thats the strategy of the devil.
When you start feeling the need to be all on your own, nomore need for instruction, no more need for guidance, you had better be careful. When you start developing a

When you start feeling you dont need anybody to make itin life, and that youll be able to make it on your own, andyou start damning everybody and telling them to go tohell, Hmmn, the legion has started marching into yourheart.
Dont forsake the assembling of the brethren, as iron
sharpens iron. Sometimes people may be a pain in theneck, but you should also remember that people comeinto our lives so that they can change something in us. Ina case where you cant see anything the fellow canchange, then its possible that fellow is in your life so thatyou can be of influence to him.

5 Gods Specialty
With a smile so radiant,Who wouldnt be intoxicated?
With laughter so merry,
Who wouldnt be delighted?
Heart so large and warm,
Who wouldnt be captivated?
You are one of Gods specialties,In His best mood He made you,Everything in their right proportions,And behold they were good.
The moon, always coming outnightly,To catch even just a glimpse,Of Gods very specialty,
The sun cant wait till morning,To shine forth its rays of affection,Upon the one its fallen in love with,Gods very specialty;
The gazelles, they blush in shyness,At the passing of one so gorgeous,
Even the very birds of the air,They reserve their best of pitch,So when they sing in the morning,Its for the best of His creations,
The wind so gentle and cool,Cant help but seize everyopportunity,To caress Gods very specialty,In its own way saying youre deeplyloved.
Dont

And humanity, ah! the most expressive,Cant help but stare in wonder,At the beauty of Gods specialty,Not only in the container,But the content so well ventilated,Outrightly transcendental!
How can beauty and charisma,Superiority and humility,
Majesty and servitude,And a heart so full of love,Be found in just one personality?Impossible it seemed to men,But on the mountains will I shout,Making them know that Ive found just that,All contained in Gods own specialty,A gem, a rarity, a miracle: You.
A Perfect Masterpiece! (The Story)
Ps 139:14
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made:marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Every person is unique! You are unique. If youve been
told otherwise before, then youve been wrongly
informed.
God never makes mistakes. He made you just the way
you are so you can perform excellently well in your
calling. You were not mass-produced. He spent quality
time making you, paying attention to all the details that
we might have overlooked as insignificant, dont you darecompare yourself with another person. When you do so,
you underestimate the power that lies deep within you.
You will end up wishing you were someone else while
you neglect the exclusive capabilities innate in you.

6 Light inside the Tunnel
The tunnel looks long, longer than expected,
Filled with slime, dirt and discouragement immeasurable,
A glimpse at the end, but all you see is darkness,
Darkness so near, it clings to your skin.
The people you looked up to, have all deserted you,At a time when their help would have meant a lot to you;Help seems so vague and extremely unattainable,And now you are at the verge of desperation and collapse.
The pain! Oh so unbearable,Making thoughts of death so welcome and comforting,Why me Lord, why me alone? you ask,In this tunnel so dark and lonely
Excommunicated, rejected and alienated,Broken, busted and sorely disgusted,Life now is to you but a pain in the neck,
And all hope is leaked out of you completely.
Tomorrow to you is an endless journey of futility,Days of struggle, filled with tears and nothingness,And With the tunnel so dark and devoid of a single ray,How will you ever stand in rank with the mighty?!
But how long will you live a life of defeat and complaint,Being dug deeper and deeper into the pit of pity,If you look harder you will but see,The light resides not at the end of the tunnel,The light to the tunnel is inside of you.
Arise; shine, for your light is come,Turn up the sparks of illumination welled up in you,Look deep within, rather than without;Life is only dark when you choose to leave it so,Dare to be mighty, rank with the glorious.

I was serving my Fatherland
in Bauchi when I wrote this
piece. I looked around me and
I saw several men who had
completely given up on life.
The only thing they could see
was all gloom and failure.
They lived life believing fate
had dealt them a final wicked
blow, and they felt theyd
never be able to recover from that blow. Candidly, it was
heart shattering.
There was a particular man who kept on repeating that
Nigeria had failed him. Several people are like that,
looking up to someone else for their success, waiting on
luck and fate to determine their life and destiny, blaming
others for all their misfortune and calamity.
Snap out of it! Your life is not dependent on fate and luck.If it were, you should have won the lottery a long while
ago. In fact, you should have found a pot of gold at the
end of a rainbow. But if you wait for that to happen, youll
grow very old while still waiting. You make your own
destiny! You need to change the direction of your gaze.
Look within rather than without. Tap into the resources
which God placed within you. Of a truth everybody has
their own loads to carry, so dont expect anybody to drop
theirs and heave yours on their head. Success happens
when opportunity meets preparations. So prepare for the
greatness which you hope to attain. Never sit and flop
losing hope in your situation, rather face the situation and
turn the trial to triumph!
In all you see, do orimagine,
Let this thoughtalways be with you,The light lies not atthe end of the tunnel,
You are theillumination in the
tunnels tummy

7 Love in the midst of stress? Its been on my mind for a long while now,The situation existing in many families one too many,Fathers and mothers full time workers,In a country as stressful as our own.
Wake up before the sun is up,
Come back after the sun is down,More like a vampire avoiding solar rays,Nocturnal beings, so unnaturally turned.
Sex on phone, romance by mail,Cyber-orgy, rampant like wild fire,If amongst the wayward, it would be reasonable,But legally married?! God save Nigeria!
But who is to blame for the union so loose? No time for play, all time for work,Hurried lovemaking, romance micro-waved,
Posted promises, affection by DHL;Mummy wheres Daddy,Hes out making money for usDaddy wheres Mummy,She had a meeting to attend.
Gradual disintegration, defined as doggedness,Progressive straying euphemized as diligence,Love long lost, disguised as busi-ness;Minds cracked severally, hes just being transformed
Wake up from sleep, prioritize your life,6 feet beneath, thats what life is,
Beyond love and affection, life is tasteless,Just like rubber, sticky and stretchy,But the aftertaste, not too good in the mouth.
Take time to play, laugh and be silly,Roll with her on the grass,Swim together again,

Romance Redefined! (The Story)Song 2:4
He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over
me was love
I started working for a company the moment I finished
my service. Right from the onset, it was as if the only
thing I lived for was the job. Weekends were counted as
workdays and it was a battle before Sunday was
excluded. Public holidays were not granted and the idea
of annual vacations wasjust a faade. I rarely
travelled to see my
beloved family.
Then one day I realized
that while I was so busy
coursing a path in my
career, my family tie
was getting loose and loose. My relationship with people I
loved was being sacrificed on the platform of a job. I sat
down and put the two side by side. Which was moreimportant, my job or my family?
While my job was very important to me, I realized that
more important is my family. At that very instance I made
a decision: while I will do everything within my power to
My family, my
people, my loved ones,
they mean more to me
than millions of
dollars!

satisfy my career, my family will never suffer for the
progress I make at work.
Family means more, consider it from all angle. When you
were courting, you spent enough time with her, sent her
cute SMSs and you made sure you spoke with her
regularly. But the moment you got married and you got a
promotion, you delved into your job like that was what
mattered most. Your kids barely know what you look like,as youre out before they awake, and by the time you are
back, they are asleep.
Man and wife struggling to make lots of money, leaving
their kids in the hands of a nanny they dont know. No
wonder todays teenagers are so corrupt and devoid of
vision! I blatantly refused to work overtime for extra pay
where I used to work. I also declined a permanent
weekend work for the sake of more money.
My family, my people, my loved ones, they mean more tome than millions of dollars! Maybe you think romance is
for the ungodly, you better have a re-think; else one of
those you qualify as ungodly will lure your spouse away!

8 EmotionsHe looked at her and felt so happy,Who on earth could ever have imagined,That somebody beaming now with joy,An hour ago was talking about suicide,But then he remembered the many others,Who at one time were angry at life,Almost desperate to expire their session,
Blaming fate for all their travails,But after spending some time with him,Reason is restored back unto them,Like a toy momentarily snatched away,From the hands of an obedient girl,As if the toy had been newly restored,How many they are, he failed to recall,For quite a number they had been,All having a dilemma same in nature,Emotions shattered altogether.
Unconsciously lapsing into the land of dreams,
He saw himself in the midst of flowers,Himself awarded the position of the bee,Quietly humming a buzzy tune,Trying to find which flower to pollinate,Beautiful and inviting, the flowers all looked,He felt like the choice was all his own,But a big little problem presented itself,The sweetest nectar was not his target,His senses tended towards the best.
And the flowers ignorant of his predicament,Beholding the bee as the man of the day,All portrayed themselves in a fashionable way,Wanting to bag the prize of prizes.Determinedly he drifted rightward,Believing to have recognized the best of all,At the very verge of necting the flower,A sound brought him back to reality.
Gently but purposefully it repeated itself,

It was the tapping of hand on wood,A gentle knock at his very door,With a shake of his head he arose,A song silently forming in his mind,Helpless helper, the title of the song,Opening the door, he found another,The look of who tells the entire story,Concern made him reach out and he knew,
Its going to be another session of counsel,His instincts readily reached out to his Source,A word of prayer crossing his mind,And then he silently asked The Master,Is there really a helper for helpers?
Following the victim of emotion and distraught,The very latest in his list of clients,Knowing shell soon beam with joy,After having listened to the comforter,As he is known and called by all.Seeing her off some moments later,His expectations not being cut off,He almost busted a question that flashed through hismind,
How would it be if you were to know,How many fragments my own emotion is?
Trying to solve everyonesproblem will send you to an

Who helps helpers? (The Story)Ps 27:10When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORDwill take me up
I was a member of the executive committee of a vibrantcampus fellowship for several years. I met a lot of peoplewith issues to deal with. At every point in time there wassomeone to counsel and pray with. They always left
happy and re-assured, hope being restored in them.
However at a point I began to feel so weighed down anddepressed. If was as if the entirety of their loads had beenplaced upon my shoulders. I realized I was trying to carrytheir loads for them, rather than laying it at the feet of
Jesus.
At the same time, I needed someone to talk to, for I hadmy own issues as well. I looked around and I noticed thateveryone was busy. The ones mature enough had severalother clients to handle. The remaining ones constituted
the clients. The question was like a big rock on my mind:Is there a helper for helpers?
It was not just me; there were several others like me, whocant neglect a sincere cry for help from the folks theylead. On the surface they looked so peaceful and well, yetdeep within them they are crying and weeping, but thereis absolutely no one they could bare their mind to.
At the long run I got the answer, right from inside theword of God. Trying to solve everyones problem willsend you to an early grave. While you listen to as many asyou can, dont transfer their loads upon yourself, ratherguide them to lay it at the feet of Jesus.
The helper of helpers is Jesus. Dont make the mistake ofthinking you can proffer solution to every mans problem.Be sensitive enough to know that your Spirit has aclothing of flesh.

9 Issues of the heartDecisions made in the heart,Affecting the entirety of existenceLove me, love me not,Love her, love her not,Who can fathom the pathway,Of a man with a maiden?
Under the weight of feelings,The heart slumps lower and lower,It is said that love makes a man joyous,But what about that side that hurts a lot,No-one seems to talk about it,The torment of a man yet to decide.
I thought I loved her with all my life,I thought I met the one for me,Until I realized it was not as deep as it ought,Now that the deed has been done,And I know not what to do,
It hurts like a spear through my heart!

the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love , till
he please.
Its generally believed that falling in love is the sweetest
thing that could ever happen to a man or woman. But one
thing everybody subtly tries to hide from is the fact that
love can hurt.
Fits of jealousy, suspicion and doubt can haunt a lover
into the darks. And my, the pain that comes with being
unsure can be harrowing. In your heart you want things
to just be perfect, but a gentle voice keeps sending you
signal of warning. You want to make it work, but
stir not up, norawake my love, till he pleases.

suddenly you realize that making it work is not
monotonous, its steam work that makes a winning team!
When you finally understand that things just might not
work at all, letting go becomes an ordeal and a challenge.
You remember the times youve spent together, and the
investments youve made, and the people you have to
explain to. Really if you put all these things sat the
forefront of your heart, you might just decide to endurethe outcome of your decision.
From me to you, Id say thats unwise. You cant afford to
sacrifice your future, destiny and joy on the platform of
pity and emotions. A lot of people will definitely judge
you and condemn you but thats all they can do. The
ultimate court is the throne of God. If youve tabled it
before Him and you have His go ahead, then do just that!
Sometimes we ere and refuse to listen to what the Master
is saying, but when we realize our folly and are ready tomake amends, we should put the past behind and move
along with our call. Its a difficult decision to make as
people will ask why you took the step initially. But I
choose to believe that the Gods heart is what counts.
Now a word of advice if youve found yourself in that
predicament before: One time is a mistake, but a second
time is folly! If youve fallen before into the error of a
choice hastily made, learn from that fall and guide against
such haste occurring again.

Irons; Sharpeners. (The Story)Pro 27:17Iron sharpeneth iron ; so a man sharpeneth the countenance ofhis friendDeut 32:30How should one chase a thousand , and two put ten thousandto flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD hadshut them up?
The power of unity can
never be over-emphasized.
When two people unite, the
resultant force is such that
cannot be humanly
understood or explained.
The devil understands this,
thats why he would do
anything to nsure that a
man and his wife do not pray together. He will strive to
ensure that a church is always settling conflicts andarguments. He sows the seed of discord and envy into
fellowships, relationships, marriages, friendships. His aim
is to ensure that there is no unity!
When you have experienced the power released from
working in unity with another person, you will never
allow the devil to bog you with trivial issues leading to
disunity again.
The disciples experienced the Holy Spirit while they were
in one accord in one place. One shall chase a thousand;two shall chase ten thousand, how many will three chase?
No mathematics can explain that progression, for it is not
arithmetic, nor geometric. May be exponential, I think not!
Absolute power is released when people walk in unity. If
we agree on the same goal and we follow it through, there
No matter theenormity of any
situation, a helpinghand from a like-

is no limiting the extent to which we will go, for nothing
will be able to stop us.
Two of you shall also agree concerning a thing, and it
shall be established. No matter the enormity of any
situation, a helping hand from a like-minded friend will
always add a spur to the recovery process.
As an executive in a living fellowship, I was at the vergeof exhaustion as at the time of writing this piece. It was a
time when one feels, Am I the only one in Christendom?
Just about that time, there came into the picture another
healer. With her God-given ability she brought about a
turn around to the entire scenario. Never ignore what a
little help from a visionary can do! But for the appearance
of someone who had a like mind, maybe I would have
given up. Maybe, maybe not.

11 Reflections
Bravo, Bravo, Bravo, some shouted,
Excellent, Brilliant, Beautiful, hailed the rest,
Is that meant for me?, inquired the hailed,
Right there and then his chest heaved,
Like a ball just slightly inflated,
Like flour acted upon by yeast,He assumed a more pronounced look,
Looking straight ahead like the world conqueror,
The look of him ready to fall.
Ha, ha, ha, laughed the adversary,Ho, ho, ho, joined the emissaries,Another fall to hardeningly break to pieces,Beholding with passionate wickedness,Subtly guiding the minds of the hailers,Expectantly waiting to hear the crash,The adversary awaits like a patient dog,
Beaming with radiance and expectation,Beholding he like a tree to be felled,Knowing he has the joker which never fails-Pride precedes a fall.
Mercy, Mercy, Mercy, cried the advocate,Behold hes your handiwork, said He again,With a look of compassion upon His face,Pain hiding just underneath the surface,Heart pleading for a change of focus,Look to the mountains for help, He moaned,But a part of Him kept consoling Him,
Reminding Him of a dog about to wander,Its ears are deafened against the masters whistle,Slowly the thought found expression in Him,Another fall might soon be witnessed,With little He can do about it,This made Him remember the fact that-Pride precedes a fall.

The hailed, the adversary and the advocate,All characters in a simple drama,A drama that happens all the time,Practically every-time at every place,The hailed ignorant of his doom,The adversary aware of his near victory,The advocate never losing hope at all,But The One sits on the throne and watches,
Like a viewer beholding a tragic opera,Knowing the hailed dictates the fate of the drama,Silently watching and waiting for the end,A silent thought nudges His heart too-Pride precedes a fall.
Drama with a twist (The Story)Pro 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughtyspirit before a fall
This is a piece that came to me at the peak of my ministryin school, being the leader of a growing campus
fellowship. Things were blooming and radiant, and Godopened my eyes to see the greatest folly of great men-PRIDE.
It strikes like an arrow, sharp and so full of poison. Themost dangerous aspect is that the effect is not alwaysimmediate. The poison is like a cankerworm, eating awayslowly but steadily. After some time it starts leaving asore, a sore that oozes out a pungent odour, sendingeverybody fleeing away from you. It creeps in like cancer, you wouldnt even know when. Gradually it envelopesyou, until it engulfs you completely.
It starts with a haughty look. Shoulders squared andknees unbending. At first youll define it as class and self-esteem. Later on you feel disgusted with people who usedto be your friend. Who does he think he is? Hes thesame person you hung out with before you got a job. Butnow that your own status has changed, hes nothing toyou but a jobless time-waster.

Pride makes you feel like youre the Lord and master, andeverybody else is nothing but dung. All because you got araise, you feel youve reached the pinnacle ofachievement. O most foolish of all fools, know ye not thatthere is yet more ground to cover, and one pre-requisite togreatness is humility. For many will prefer to be friendswith people who are insane, than have contact with a manfull of pride.
When the devil is interested in your downfall, two of histools are pride and arrogance, for he knows that Goddespises the arrogant, and He speedily abases them thatare haughty. Our advocate, Jesus, continues to intercede on our behalf, pleading with God to grant us second chances. As Hecontinues to advocate, so the adversary continues totempt. Its however a matter of choice, choice with respectto the one being advocated. The ball resides in his court,He can choose life or death, greatness or abasement, thedifference is in
attitude.
No matter how highyou might have risen, never fall prey of thegreatest folly of greatmen. Never seeyourself to have apprehended, but fix your gaze on theprize of a higher calling. On your way up, recognize theone who supplies the grace, never heave your chest toclaim the glory, but ascribe all honour to the one whosupplies the grace. A formula that will keep you on top is
bending your knees at every junction of raise.
Pride makes youfeel like youre the
Lord and master, andeverybody else is
nothin but dun .

12 The Heart of a WomanIts tender, so tender;
Just like the heart of a baby,It knows no guile,It keeps no evil,It was made to nurture,To foster and to care,A gift from heaven,
The heart of a woman.
Its fragile, so fragile,Easily broken and hurt,Due to its nature so trusting,It easily falls prey to prowling predators,If only men would treat it with tenderness,Caring for it like the pupil of their eyes,A rare gift yet easily broken,The heart of a woman.
Its treacherous, so treacherous,
It spits death like the fangs of a snake,Handle with care or get bitten with death,Vengeance to it is like sipping water,Especially when betrayed beyond she can bear,Relentlessly seeking justice to an extreme,Take care before you make a stab at it,The heart of a woman.
So many things it can be at once,It can be loving now, yet cruel in a flash,Sweet now but calculating as well,Gentle in an instant, a roaring lion the very next,Only those who come with good intents,Can enjoy the miracle within the pumping organ,The heart of a woman.
Nations have been made through its beauty,Nations have fallen under its craftiness,Men have arisen due to its love,Generals have died due to its jealousy,

Paupers made king because of it,Kings turned pauper for neglecting it,So alive, so dead,So in love, so hateful,The irony of a woman, who can know,The heart of a woman.
A weapon of war, an instrumentof peace,
A channel of love, an orchestratorof evil,When loved it makes alive,When angered its fluids aredeadly,The wisdom of man can nevercomprehend,How so complex such a simpleorgan is,Show me a man who was able toknow,How exactly to steer her heart,
Without even a moment of trepidation,The dark belly of a place called Sheol,Thats where such a man resides.
Ill handle with care,Ill thread with caution,Ill touch with feeling,Ill nurture so gently,For the beauty within a womans heart,Is more than enough to build destiny.
Strength in cloaks (The Story)A woman can unlock a door that many men have diedover without even breaking sweat. She can also lock updoors that were opened with many mens blood with justa breath. Thats how powerful a woman can be. 14 "Lick your boot? No way!"
I couldn't do it for the whole world,
Honestly, I wouldn't!
Stoop beyond the limit of my pride,
My self esteem put on the line,
My confidence exchanged for favours,
Lick your boot? No way!
That seems the order of the day,
Boot lickers, ass kissers,
Better do it, else get the boots,
Insurance insured in the dirt on a boot,
The dirtier, Hmmn the better,
"Lick your boot? No way!"
Excellence is a thing of the past,
Merit, archaic and so mundane,
All you need is access to the boots,
And a tongue as long as the dog's,
Those are the keys to open the door,
To the seats of power and influence,
Exchange your creativity for a pot of porridge,
"Lick your boot? No way!"
I'd rather be kicked by the boot,
Than bend to lick a speck of the dust,
I'd rather be tagged as obstinate and rigid,
Than bend my morals and principles of life,
More important to me than crumbs so mere,
Are my self-esteem and worth in life,
But "Lick your boot? No way!"

Some call it pride, I call it dignity! (The Story)
Pro 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall
stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men
There was a time when merit was celebrated, diligence
openly rewarded and doggedness inculcated and
promoted. At that time what stands you out is your
excellent spirit, your charisma and your persona.
Everybody aimed at being the best at what they did thenbecause they knew it was going to be rewarded. But
suddenly things took a swift turn. Excellence was pushed
aside and eye service became the order of the day. In
corporate organizations, public parastatal, in the military,
even in churches, the key to promotion changed hands
and fell in the grasp of sycophants. What guarantees your
elevation was your ability to play office politics and
psyche those at the top. Flatter your way into greatness,
dole out cheap praise and youll catch the eye of the
bosses.
Those who really
knew the job now
have a hard time
getting to do the
job, for they have to
wait patiently to even get the opportunity to perform.
Alongside being good and experienced, a bit of politics
needed to be displayed for you to make a mark.
But I choose to say NO! I will never boot-lick my way to
the top! Neither will I give cheap praise all in the name ofa raise. I believe in who I am, who God has made me to
be. In Him I live, move and have my being. He is the one
who has taught my hands to war, such that my arms can
break a bow of bronze. He made my feet like the hinds
feet, I rise beyond expectation. He has exalted my head
I believe in who I am, whoGod has made me to be. InHim I live, move and have
my being

Id rather wait for my time to come, while I prepare for it

meets opportunity. Rather than join them to lick dirt off
boots, dedicate your time to study and preparation for the
peak. The time will come when your diligence will surelybe rewarded.
Im praying for a revolution that will stampede the era of
sycophancy, so that our youngsters can be channeled all
in the path of excellence and diligence.

15 Seasons
Christmas and Easter,
New Year and Half year,
Celebrations and Merriments,
Resolutions and Decisions,
Times and Chances,
Periods of repentance,Moments of regret,
Fits of vengeance,
Seasons of life,
Numerous as the sand,
Habiting the seashore.
But lately I've discovered,
That seasons matter less,
When you have a mind,
That is set for a change,
It really wouldn't matter,
What time it is,
Decisions can be made,
Mid-day or -night,
Seasons saved in the heart,
Rather than those of the earth.

16. See-SawThe wise man builds houses on the rock,'Cos he once pitched tents besides the wisest,He's considered the all in all,And seen as the one with the answer,Feeling really needed he goes around,Foolishly aspiring to get all the knowledge,
But slowly and stealthily the caller calls,No much ado with the knowledge welled up,Abruptly ends his quest for more.
But the foolish man, oh no! He's wiseAware fully life's null and void,Puts life only on his finger's tip,Though knows not a B from a bull's foot,Wisely discerns the need of man,A word from him, broken hearts get mend,Being thrown into fits of hilarity,'Well, hell, yes, a fool he is', they say,
Team them up with the wise then they know,Life's more fun with the fool around.

The worlds wise men mostly dont make Gods wisdomlist. Ironically, what they deem wise, in Gods eyes couldbe utter foolishness. The wisest display of con and thewisdom of this world is foolishness in the eyes of God.
God does not always call the prepared, but He alwaysprepares the called! Beingused is not a function ofexperience, wisdom,
connection and con. Josephwas a carpenter, Gideon wasa farmer, David was just ashepherd boy, yet they weremightily used of God. It goesfurther to prove that whenGod in interested in you, yourbackground, your academic exploits or your resume dontcome into play. You could have degrees like athermometer, yet God could chose to make a mighty manout of that brother of yours who cant even spell his name.
Imagine a global church built on the foundation of anilliterate. Yet today, multiple scholars, emeritus, professors and all kinds of intellectual achievers are beingblessed from that vision. Indeed God is unquestionable!
God would often chose to use people whose worldlywisdom has not turned them corky and un-usable, peoplewho are ready to be broken and remolded, people whowont contest the decisions of the spirit. The foolish ones!
The world tags them foolish and un-intelligent, yet theyturn out great men in the eyes of God. They are foolish
enough to rely only on the directives, instructions andprecepts as given to them by God through the Holy Spirit.
