2017 SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Three Years to a Better Winnipeg! For more than 50 years, United Way has invested in people and community by supporting a network of agencies, programs and partnerships. On average, someone in our city accesses one of these services every two minutes. Events like the annual golf tournament are key to ensuring that this life-changing work and these essential services remain stable and available when they’re needed most.
Now a new three-year strategy inspired by Winnipeggers promises to build on the essential help we already make possible, while going even further to do more for kids and families who are still facing serious challenges. By 2019, our goal is to provide:
• Mentorship for 1800 more kids – because we know kids have a 75% better chance of graduating university with a mentor’s guidance.
• Mental health support for 4000 more kids – because we know 80% of people who get support for mental health issues are able to successfully return to regular activities.
• Job and money management skills for 2800 more people – because to rise out of poverty and create stability for their families, people must be able to earn a steady income, reduce debt, manage their money and build their savings.
• More neighbourhood-based support for 2700 more families – because stronger families mean a stronger Winnipeg.
Together, we’re making Winnipeg better for everyone who lives here.
Thank you for your support!
A MESSAGE FROM THE 2017 Tournament Chair
I am thrilled to be chairing the 25th Annual United Way Golf Tournament –
a quarter century of generous people and organizations joining together to
keep a critical network of help available when it’s needed most.
This is a milestone year for the tournament, and it’s the beginning of
United Way’s 3-year plan to help 11,000 more people in our communities.
It’s an exciting time to be part of the tournament supporting not one,
but hundreds of programs and partnerships strengthening the fabric of
our communities.
Last year we crossed the $1.2 million mark – an incredible amount of
change for more than 250,000 people who visit United Way Winnipeg
agency partners each year!
Approximately 150 golfers – corporate and media leaders in our
community – will come together at Bel Acres Golf & Country Club again
for this 25th year. Not only is it one of the premier fundraising tournaments in our city, it feels so
good to be part of and is always so much fun.
I invite you to sponsor this important and worthwhile tournament to strengthen our shared
community. It is a true investment which will pay dividends for years to come!
Within this book you will fi nd sponsorship opportunities to fi t every corporate niche, need,
and budget.
Have a browse, and call any one of us listed on the back page to talk about becoming a part
of this great day!
