Threshold: a series of 6, fresco on wood panel, 36x36”, 2017 Threshold: the magnitude or intensity that must be exceeded for a certain reaction, phenomenon, result, or condition to occur or be manifested. This series was inspired by the cosmogony of Norse mythology. Accordingly, out of the great void of potential power called Ginnungagap came two realms: Muspellheim, the region of elemental fire; and Niflheim, the region of elemental ice. As the heat from Muspellheim reached the cold of Niflheim, layers of rime poured into Ginnungagap creating a nourishing life-giving substance from which the cosmos sprang forth. Wyrd is fate, and the main force that determines the course of events in the universe. Muspellheim
