What's Thrive?

Thrive : Redefining Growth is an opportunity for you to see
how other and respond to leaders and senior managers lead
critical situations. Its premise is to simulate a series of
situations and show consequence of action. It is a one day
immersive learning programme.
Thrive will give you insight into how to define leadership
effectively.
Thrive depicts an end-of-times scenario in which
protagonists must embark on a journey through deep space.
The journey is meant to last a whole earth year through
which they must prepare themselves to 'thrive' when they
arrive at this new planet. As the protagonists embark on this
journey, they soon realise that it's not a journey of
hibernation but one with many surprises and unforseen
circumstances that call for tough choices.
The game-play
The entire game-play is dependent on the decisions made by
the team - a decision made at the onset of the game has the
potential to impact the way in which the entire game
unfolds.
Moreover, the game evolves with its protagonists and
presents tougher challenges as it progresses.
Why this?
Development plans are typically charted out in the form of
executive coaching and/or headquarters may suggest
leadership development programmes - these are in silos.
“Not being able to see how other
leaders lead” remains the senior
manager's biggest complaint.
This programme places the , leader or senior manager
whatever his industry or discipline, in the very situations that
require the essence of leadership to be exercised.

work?
12 - 15 leaders and senior
managers are brought
under one roof; together
They are assigned a major
task (ie migrate to a new
planet) and several minor
tasks;
They must achieve the
tasks set in the allotted
time while managing the
unforseen obstacles that
may emerge;
They must ensure that all
aspects of their regiment
(team) is managed
effectively. This includes
aligning with the
organisational
departments on things
such as finance, resources
(food and supplies),
morale and physical
health;
A projected dashboard
displays real-time status
through key performance
indicators of the team;
Leaders and senior
must plan and managers
execute their strategies
based on what's
"working" and what's not.

What is Immersive Learning?
"In immersive learning, you can control what experiences learners have, the feedback they receive, and the opportunities they have to see both short-term and long-term consequences."

In an immersive experience, the participant is immersed in an experience, a game or an activity. The nature of the immersion is iterative to ensure the participant understands wholly what elements are impacting his/her outcome in the experience itself. During the immersion, the participant is simply playing a role while exhibiting his/her natural behaviours for a short period of time.

In addition to consulting, he has worked part-time as a corporate trainer and obtained certifications in Java (SCJP, SCJD) and Microsoft technologies (MCP+SiteBuilding). He has certifications in CIO, eCommerce, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
