Attendance matters….

We certainly understand that sometimes keeping your child home is unavoidable. If your child is absent or is going to be absent please notify the school. This can be done in a number of ways; 1. Telephone the school on the morning of the absence. 2. Use the Absentee form on the Skoolbag App 3. Send a note in, including your child’s name, class, date of the absence

and the reason they have been absent.

Getting ready for our future school leaders….

Term 4 is a very busy term and an extremely important one for our Year 5 students. In just a few weeks’ time students and staff will have the opportunity to choose our school leaders for 2019. We are grateful for the fine leaders that we have had this year as they have shown initiative while demonstrating pride and respect. A Year 5 meeting was held where the policy and procedures for school captains and vice captains was outlined. Eligible students will now have the opportunity to indicate whether they wish to nominate themselves as potential school leaders for 2019. Nominees are expected to have displayed Effort, Respect and Responsibility in all settings, wear their uniform with pride and would be outstanding ambassadors for our school. From the nominations, students in 3-6 will then vote for one boy and one girl for the final voting round. These will be collated and the 7 boys and 7 girls with the greatest number of votes will be invited to prepare a speech for a leadership position. All are welcome to attend with final confirmation of the date and time to be identified in the near future. After the speeches have been given, there will then be a second round of voting by staff and students in years 2-6, with the 2019 Captains and Vice Captains announced at Presentation Day on Wednesday, 5 December 2018. Vicki Crowhurst Assistant Principal

PSSA Sport…. PSSA Sport is on again this Friday, 2 November 2018. Buses leave the school promptly at 9:10am and return by 11:00am. Softball/Teeball games will be played at Alexandra Park every week. Cricket for Friday 2 November 2018 - Black Range Park, Schaefer Street, Lavington.
