Introduction

What is a storyboard?

Storyboards provide a simple method for following specific end-to-end processes, which may traverse acrossdiagrams, or even across process maps. Storyboards are mostly used to highlight sub-processes within a largeprocess map, but they can also assist in training and in highlighting changes to a process.

What is the TIBCO Nimbus Storyboard Player?

The TIBCO Nimbus Storyboard Player allows you to download storyboards and view them offline.

The TIBCO Nimbus Storyboard Player can be downloaded to your iPhone, iPad and iPod from the Apple iTunesstore:

Configuring your TIBCO Nimbus Storyboard Player

In the Settings you can specify the server and user credentials of the server that you will be downloadingfrom.

To configure the TIBCO Nimbus Storyboard Player App:

1. On the Home screen, press More.

2. Press Settings, then define the following settings:

Service URL. The URL of the TIBCO Nimbus server that you will be downloading your storyboards from,e.g. http://ServerName/TIBCONimbus.

Username. Your TIBCO Nimbus username.

Password. Your TIBCO Nimbus password.

Language. Your chosen language. Only storyboards and attachments tagged with your selectedlanguage will be downloaded. Note: If you change the language at a later date and update yourstoryboards, any storyboards not published in that language will be removed.

Downloading and Removing Storyboards

Once you have configured the TIBCO Nimbus Storyboard app you can download storyboards to your Appledevice.

Note: Your settings must be configured before downloading storyboards. If you have not configured yourdevice, please refer to the Configuring your TIBCO Nimbus Storyboard Player topic for help.

To download storyboards to your Apple device:

1. Ensure your Apple device is connected to the Internet.

2. Do one of the following:

On the Home screen, press Sync.

On the Settings screen, press Sync Storyboards.

After a short period of communication between your device and the TIBCO Nimbus server, a list ofpublished storyboards will be displayed. Note: Only storyboards that have been published in the languagethat you have set in your Settings will be available to download. Some storyboards may not be available ifyou do not have access to the storyboard or one or more diagrams referenced by the storyboard.

3. Select the storyboards that you want to download, then press Sync (in the top-right corner of the screen)to download the selected storyboards to your device. A dialogue box will be displayed when all of theselected storyboards have downloaded.

To remove storyboards from your Apple device:




It may take a few moments to display your storyboards.

2. Press each storyboard that you want to remove from your device to deselect them, then press Sync (in thetop-right corner of the screen).

Storyboards can be downloaded and removed in the same synchronization operation. Any storyboards thatare removed can be downloaded to your device again at any time.



Updating Storyboards

To ensure you always have the latest storyboards on your Apple device, it is a good idea to check for updatedstoryboards regularly. Storyboards may also be set to expire on devices after a set time, after which they mustbe downloaded again. Synchronizing your Apple device with the TIBCO Nimbus server will automaticallyupdate storyboards on your device with the latest published versions. Expired storyboards will also becomeaccessible again (with an updated version if available).

To check for updated storyboards on the server:

1. Ensure that your Apple device is connected to the Internet.


3. Press Updates Available.

A list of storyboards that require updating will be displayed.

To check for expired storyboards on your device:


2. Press Expired to view a list of expired storyboards, or Due to Expire to display a list of storyboards thatwill expire within the next 7 days.

Note: Storyboards that have expired will have the icon next to them in your list of storyboards.

To update the storyboards on your device:




After a short period of communication between your device and the TIBCO Nimbus server, a list ofpublished storyboards will be displayed. The storyboards that you have on your Apple device will alreadybe selected. At this stage you can choose to select other storyboards to download, or deselect existingstoryboards to remove from your device, during the synchronization process.

To review which storyboards will be updated during the synchronization process, press Update.

2. Press Sync (in the top-right corner of the screen) to update the storyboards on your device.



Navigating Storyboards

To view a storyboard:

1. On the Home screen, press the storyboard that you wish to view.

Additionally, to view a recently played, recently added or favorite storyboard, press the respective buttonon the bottom bar of the Home screen.

Navigating storyboards

When your selected storyboard opens, you are shown step one in the Diagram Mode.

Zoom in and out with pinch gestures.

Touch and drag the screen to navigate around the diagram.

Automatically zoom out to see the entire diagram by pressing Whole View.

Zoom in on the current activity by pressing Center View.

Move forwards and backwards by pressing the respective arrows.

Note: To enhance the storyboard view, these buttons auto-hide after a certain time of inactivity. To displaythe buttons again simply tap the screen lightly.

Text Mode

To access Text Mode, press Supported Text.

In this mode the current step is displayed as text, including any step notes. You also have access to anyattachments for the current step. The following TIBCO Nimbus attachment types are supported in the TIBCONimbus Storyboard Player:

To search for a storyboard:


2. Press Search.



Favorite Storyboards

If you have many storyboards on your device, you may want to add specific storyboards to your Favorites foreasy access.

To add a storyboard to your Favorites:

1. On your Home screen, find the storyboard that you want to add to your Favorites (but don't open it).

2. Place your finger on it and swipe your finger to the right of the screen.

A small button will appear - press this button to add the storyboard to your Favorites.

To view your current Favorites:

1. On your Home screen, press Favorites.

To remove a storyboard from your Favorites:

1. In your list of favorites, place your finger on the storyboard and swipe your finger to the right of thescreen.

Acknowledging Storyboards

The TIBCO Nimbus Storyboard Player allows you to sign off any requests to acknowledge storyboards fromyour Apple device. You will be notified by email if you are requested to acknowledge a storyboard.

To sign off an acknowledgement request:

1. Ensure that your Apple device is connected to the internet.

2. Download the storyboard that you have been asked to acknowledge (if you have not already done so).

3. On the Home screen, open the storyboard that is marked for acknowledgement.

Note: indicates that a storyboard needs signing off (acknowledging) by you.

4. Progress through to the final step where a message will be displayed requesting you to acknowledge it.Use the buttons provided on this step to acknowledge the storyboard and return to the Home screen.

You must synchronize your device with the TIBCO Nimbus server to complete your acknowledgement

requests in the system. indicates that a storyboard has been acknowledged but not yet synchronizedwith the server.

5. On the Home screen, press Sync.

The Synchronization screen is displayed.

6. Press Sync (in the top-right corner of the screen).

LICENSED APPLICATION END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT

READ THIS LICENSED APPLICATION END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY. BY DOWNLOADING ORINSTALLING THE SOFTWARE, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TOTHESE TERMS, DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR INSTALL THE LICENSED APPLICATION AND RETURN IT TO THEVENDOR FROM WHICH IT WAS OBTAINED.

This Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is between TIBCO Software Inc.("Licensor") and you. The following terms shall govern your use of TIBCO Nimbus Storyboard Player (iPhoneEdition) (the “Licensed Application”).

The Licensed Application is licensed, not sold, to you. Licensor reserves all rights in and to the LicensedApplication not expressly granted to you under this Agreement.

Scope of License: This license granted to you for the Licensed Application by Licensor is limited to a non-transferable license to use the Licensed Application on any iPhone or iPod touch that you own or control andas permitted by the Usage Rules set forth in Section 9.b. of the App Store Terms and Conditions (the “UsageRules”). This license does not allow you to use the Licensed Application on any iPod touch or iPhone that youdo not own or control, and you may not distribute or make the Licensed Application available over a networkwhere it could be used by multiple devices at the same time. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistributeor sublicense the Licensed Application. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE LICENSEDAPPLICATION AND ANY SERVICES PERFORMED OR PROVIDED BY THE LICENSED APPLICATION ("SERVICES")ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND,AND LICENSOR HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE LICENSEDAPPLICATION AND ANY SERVICES, EITHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITEDTO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND/OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, OF SATISFACTORY QUALITY, OFFITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OF ACCURACY, OF QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT OFTHIRD PARTY RIGHTS. LICENSOR DOES NOT WARRANT AGAINST INTERFERENCE WITH YOUR ENJOYMENT OFTHE LICENSED APPLICATION, THAT THE FUNCTIONS CONTAINED IN, OR SERVICES PERFORMED OR PROVIDEDBY, THE LICENSED APPLICATION WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, THAT THE OPERATION OF THE LICENSEDAPPLICATION OR SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS IN THE LICENSEDAPPLICATION OR SERVICES WILL BE CORRECTED. NO ORAL OR WRITTEN INFORMATION OR ADVICE GIVENBY LICENSOR OR ITS AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE SHALL CREATE A WARRANTY. SHOULD THE LICENSEDAPPLICATION OR SERVICES PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARYSERVICING, REPAIR OR CORRECTION. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIEDWARRANTIES OR LIMITATIONS ON APPLICABLE STATUTORY RIGHTS OF A CONSUMER, SO THE ABOVEEXCLUSION AND LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Notwithstanding the preceding disclaimer of all warranties, in the event of any failure of the LicensedApplication to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchaseprice for the Licensed Application to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple willhave no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the Licensed Application.

f. Limitation of Liability. TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LICENSOR BE LIABLEFOR PERSONAL INJURY, OR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGESWHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA,BUSINESS INTERRUPTION OR ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATEDTO YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE LICENSED APPLICATION, HOWEVER CAUSED, REGARDLESS OF THETHEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE) AND EVEN IF LICENSOR HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THEPOSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FORPERSONAL INJURY, OR OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLYTO YOU. In no event shall Licensor’s total liability to you for all damages (other than as may be required byapplicable law in cases involving personal injury) exceed the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00). The foregoinglimitations will apply even if the above stated remedy fails of its essential purpose.

g. You may not use or otherwise export or re-export the Licensed Application except as authorized by UnitedStates law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Licensed Application was obtained. In particular, butwithout limitation, the Licensed Application may not be exported or re-exported (a) into any U.S. embargoedcountries or (b) to anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department's list of Specially Designated Nationals or the U.S.Department of Commerce Denied Person’s List or Entity List. By using the Licensed Application, you representand warrant that you are not located in any such country or on any such list. You also agree that you will notuse these products for any purposes prohibited by United States law, including, without limitation, thedevelopment, design, manufacture or production of nuclear, missiles, or chemical or biological weapons.



h. You acknowledge and agree that your breach or threatened breach of any of your obligations under thisAgreement would cause irreparable harm to Licensor not adequately compensable by monetary damages andthat Licensor may not have an adequate remedy at law, and, therefore, you expressly agree that event of anysuch breach or threatened breach, Licensor shall be entitled to injunctive and other equitable relief, inaddition to its other available legal remedies, in a court of competent jurisdiction.

i. The Licensed Application and related documentation are "Commercial Items", as that term is defined at 48C.F.R. §2.101, consisting of "Commercial Computer Software" and "Commercial Computer SoftwareDocumentation", as such terms are used in 48 C.F.R. §12.212 or 48 C.F.R. §227.7202, as applicable.Consistent with 48 C.F.R. §12.212 or 48 C.F.R. §227.7202-1 through 227.7202-4, as applicable, the CommercialComputer Software and Commercial Computer Software Documentation are being licensed to U.S. Governmentend users (a) only as Commercial Items and (b) with only those rights as are granted to all other end userspursuant to the terms and conditions herein. Unpublished-rights reserved under the copyright laws of theUnited States.

j. The laws of the State of California, excluding its conflicts of law rules, govern this license and your use ofthe Licensed Application. Your use of the Licensed Application may also be subject to other local, state,national, or international laws.

k. You and Licensor acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple’s subsidiaries, are third party beneficiariesof the Agreement, and that, upon your acceptance of the terms and conditions of the Agreement, Apple willhave the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce the Agreement against you as athird party beneficiary thereof. Apple shall not, however, have any obligations to you pursuant to thisAgreement. By way of example and not limitation, you and Licensor Acknowledge that Apple shall have noobligation or responsibilities in connection with any claims by you or any third party concerning the LicensedApplication or your use or possession of the Licensed Application, including but not limited to claimsconcerning: intellectual property infringement, product liability, conformance to applicable legal or regulatoryrequirements, consumer protection or similar legislation. You and Licensor acknowledge that this Agreementis between you and Licensor only, and not with Apple and that Licensor is solely responsible for the LicensedApplication and the content thereof.
