TIBCO Spotfire® Business Author is an authoring tool that bridges the gap between the Consumer (formerly TIBCO Spotfire®Web Player) read-only dashboards and the Analyst (formerly TIBCO Spotfire® Professional) platform with all functionalities for visualizations and statistics. This web-based TIBCO Spotfire® Business Author application enables a self-service approach to data discovery where scientists can visually explore and interact with data on-the-fly, in order to make decisions promptly. Scientists can discover patterns, trends and outliers in their data because of the dynamic and robust visualizations tools within the solution TIBCO Spotfire®.

Attributes and CapabilitiesThe TIBCO Spotfire® Business Author application shares the read-only reviewing capabilities of the TIBCO Spotfire® Consumer product with basic analytic capabilities of the TIBCO Spotfire® Analyst (Table 1). From any web-browser and operating system, scientists can open shared dashboards, modify them, and also create and share new visualizations.

Explore and Analyze Data On-the-SpotIn minutes, connect and visualize analyses from a variety of sources. Explore subsets of the data by filtering in and out of categories of interest.

Scientists can further analyze data by utilizing a basic selection of TIBCO Spotfire® Analyst visualizations such as: Bar charts, Line charts, Scatter plots, Tables, Map charts, Cross tables, Pie charts, Combination charts, Treemaps, and Parallel Coordinate

Plots. You can further explore your data details by drilling down into each visualization, by creating a new visualization, or adding in a dataset.

Create Visualizations Dynamically For each visualization, select which data table and column(s) will be represented on each axis and display them by dragging and dropping into the visualization. Drag and drop to also color and trellis data based on a specific category. Additionally, you can aggregate data and enter custom expressions on each axis to illustrate the difference between two columns. Configure the properties of each visualization by adding a title, labels, and error bars, and then dynamically convey the information by adjusting the sizing and shaping appropriately.

Organize DashboardsDrag and drop to reorder visualizations and pages. Add new pages to your analysis in one-click. Capture snapshots of your analysis with bookmarks which allows scientists to return to a previously created snapshot of their analysis, or share this snapshot with collaborators.

Share Information from AnywhereOpen analyses with any web-based library browser, similar to the TIBCO Spotfire® Consumer license. With the TIBCO Spotfire® Business Author tool, scientists can create a new analysis from existing information links and files in the library, or from local data files.

Data Discovery in Real-Time Refresh data with one-click and access relational database data and flat files via simple links. Upload new data into an existing TIBCO Spotfire® analysis file from an existing information link, a file in the library, or by opening a local .DXP file.
