Continuing Disability Review

Periodic reviews conducted by Social Security to determine if beneficiary is still disabled under Social Security guidelines

When a Ticket is “assigned” Social Security will not begin a Medical CDR

Services may begin and the Ticket may be assigned if a CDR has already begun and the CDR will be completed on schedule

Individual Work Plan •A written agreement signed by both the beneficiary and the EN that describes employment and support services needed to reach an employment goal (done in “iworks”)

•The IWP becomes effective once:•Social Security verifies that the beneficiary has a Ticket that is assignable•IWP is signed by the beneficiary and a representative of the EN (Navigator for the One Stop Centers).

Business Case Findings 2007

Iowa One Stops currently serve ticket holders (2887 registered). A small % of them disclosed a disability. 1610 ES registered Ticket Holders had earnings (56% of ES registered ticket holders)If ½ of these 1610 folks with earnings had worked all year and had their ticket assigned to one stop could be potential of over $1 Million.

For the case managers: Combining the case management services with navigator services will assist service delivery for customers with disabilities.

For the agency: Talent development for workforce shortage. Source of additional funding for employed outcomes.

What Do We Do Now? Panic? No! -Keep doing what you do. You already operate as

an “employment network”.

-Be aware the workforce center offers this Social Security work incentive.

-If customer references he/she is on SSI or Social Security Disability, tell them the One-Stop is an Employment Network under Social Security Administration and refer them to the Navigator.
