A combination of former landowners’ suites, servants quarters,
renovated stables, workshops, Victorian cottages
and even the original pumproom and schoolroom.
A million miles away from formulaic sameness.
Immaculate lawns and gardens around the Grange create the timeless country house setting, so appropriate for wedding day memories, corporate showcases and such simple pleasures as coffee on the terrace, afternoon tea under the cherry blossom or wine and nibbles on a summer evening.
Amble a few paces east to discover open paddocks, the old kitchen garden and a belt of woodland where we keep our beehives.
Turn south to see the tumbledown farm buildings where the old fold yard is now an atmospheric covered area, just right for relaxed celebrations, parties and events which seek something a little bit different.
Open spaces, wide skies, clear thinking.
On the edge of the Wolds, a few miles from the coast.
Breathe the air.
“Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation,
for when you come back to your work your judgement will be surer.
Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller
and more of it can be taken in at a glance
and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen”.

PeRfection our Passion
All our menus are based on the rich array of Yorkshire produce available to us. Each dish’s accompaniments are chosen to reflect the natural surroundings of the main element.David Nowell heads the brigade of chefs here at Hide. He is also Chair of the East Riding Food Network, an exciting group of artisan growers, farmers and producers whose products we always prefer. Hide, of course, suggests beef. Yorkshire beef, often reared on lush Wolds pastures, ranks amongst the best in the country. Whilst beef is only one element of our menu, we do give it a little more emphasis in terms of choice and style of cooking.
