TIDAL ENERGY PROJECTBy: chelsea hoyle
HISTORY OF TIDAL POWER
Where: First plant in France
When: First discovered in the 8th century CE
HOW IS TIDAL ENERGY GENERATED
There are 2 main ways of generating tidal energy.
The first and more common way is using dams which blocks the flow of the water and captures the energy. The second way is using the ocean currents created by wind to capture energy.

PROS OF TIDAL POWER
•Renewable energy
•Carbon free
•Reliable energy source
• Less harmful to sea life
CONS OF TIDAL ENERGY
• Expensive to build
• Location specific
• Remote locations
• Disrupts tidal flow
• Reduces kinetic energy in specific area
COST OF TIDAL ENERGY
• Cheep to run but expensive to build
• Modern plants are usually between 10 and 25 cents/KWhr
• The first plant ever made was about 8 cents/KWhr
