California Energy DeregulationProgram Overview
The natural gas market in California has been deregulated, much like the telecommunications industry, but unfortunately most people are unaware of the change.
Deregulation allows you the homeowner (Resident), and business owner (Organization) the ability to select whom you wish to buy your natural gas from.
Through the PG&E Core Gas Aggregation Program customers who choose to switch to Tiger Natural Gas benefit from Tigers ability to pool their customer’s usage together. This enables them to buy gas at prices less than PG&E and allows Tiger the ability to pass those savings on to their customers with a cost savings over what PG&E would charge. In most cases you can expect a savings of up to 15%+ off your annual natural gas cost depending on your usage.
PG&E will still own the pipelines that transmit and distribute the gas to your home or business and continue to charge you for the transmission and distribution of the gas to your location. The only change experienced when switching to Tiger will be on the bill PG&E sends you each month. You will be charged Tiger’s price for the natural gas you use instead of PG&E’s.
