Tighes Hill Public School Newsletter No. 15
Principal’s Report
Congratulations Mrs Kim Pope for being the successful candidate to take up the School Administrative Manager (SAM) position that was left vacant when Mrs Carlier retired. Well done!
Thank you to all the children who have found their summer school hats this week. Well done. Our “No Hats no Play” hard line is part of our Sun Safe Policy and is in place to protect our children throughout the warmer months. Please help your child remember to wear their school hat to school, each day.
As this is the last newsletter for this term I want to thank all our parents and carers for their fantastic support in all areas of school. We really value having you work closely with us to maximise learning outcomes for the children. I particularly would like to thank all the parents who have taken the positive steps towards becoming involved in the many areas of our school from P&C members, school gardeners, classroom helpers, venue driv-ers and assisting in all the varied functions and activities that our school engages in each day. We have a wonderful number of parents and carers who participate in all our activities - thank you! Your involvement makes a difference for all, children and staff and our school grounds reflect this as well. I want to encourage and invite more to join in.
As the holidays finally arrive I hope that you have a restful and safe break and enjoy just being with your children. I also hope that the holidays will finally see the end of the great number of colds and flus that have been around and that attendance in Term 4 will be exceptional for all children.
This is also a great time for all children to be treated for head lice.
I also really want to thank my staff and all the children for their extremely hard work this term, their great resilience and flexibility in being able to step up to any challenge and their total commit-ment to ensuring that children, their learning and well-being comes first. Everyone has worked very hard at achieving out-comes and overcoming challenges.

Choir Performance
Ms Hibbert and the children took to the stage on 8/9/2016 at Waratah High as part of the Combined Cluster Choir evening. The performance was terrific and I was so proud to be in the audience to watch the Tighes Hill choir perform. This school opportunity was excellently organised by Ms Hibbert. Congratula-tions everyone.

The Partners in Learning parent feedback survey
This term our school will be participating in the Partners in Learn-
ing parent survey on student engagement. The survey asks par-
ents and carers questions about different factors that are known
to impact on student wellbeing and engagement.
The survey is conducted entirely online at home or on public
computers. The survey will typically take 15 minutes or less to
complete and is completely confidential. The parent survey is
now open until 21 October. Participating in the survey is entirely
voluntary, however, your responses are very much appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting our end of term event with lots of terrific donations and money for fair tokens. Don’t forget that Friday is a mufti day and students may want to dress or bring boardies, a sunsafe shirt and hat for the
water slide and jumping castle.
If you would like to bring in a donation, we still need pizza sauce, grated cheese and cupcakes. Thank you for supporting our Year 5/6 students and school. We’re
looking forward to a fair-tastic day!
Canteen Red Day
Thank you to everyone who supported the canteen’s red food day last Friday. Kristy and Jackie did a won-derful job making lots of delicious treats and the kids absolutely loved it! The profits from this event have been donated to our Year 5/6 fundraising.
