BIBF and Aon Saudi Arabia Launch Pioneering Training
Initiative
Aon Academy initiative will train fresh Saudi
graduates in internationally-recognized
certifications in field of insurance.
Aon Saudi Arabia LLC and BIBF
held a signing ceremony on
Wednesday, 30th April 2014 to
launch Aon Academy, an
accredited graduate Development
Programme aimed at recruiting
and training fresh Saudi
graduates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the fields of insurance and
insurance brokerage.
Mr. Al Tamimi expressed his enthusiasm on the agreement, saying that the Academy will enable
Saudi youth to be trained and qualified to work in the insurance sector and develop it according to
global standards, and stated that the selection criteria will be announced at a later stage.
"Along with our world-class faculty, BIBF has developed internationally-accredited training
programs and materials that are unavailable anywhere else, and we look forward to seeing the
Academy achieve its desired objectives and contribute to developing Saudi youth in the insurance
sector," Mr. Al-Ajmi said.
Al-Attar concluded "The Academy will enable us to develop the expertise of fresh Saudi graduates
while supporting them to pursue their professional insurance qualifications, thus ensuring that we
will have a pool of qualified and experienced bi-lingual insurance brokerage professionals who will
lead the Company in the near future".

Saudi MERS death toll continues to rise
Even as Saudi Arabia has announced four more deaths from the Mers coronavirus and 18 new
infections, kingdom’s health minister said the talk about developing a vaccine to avoid the virus
is premature.
“Developing the vaccine requires time and we are still in the early stages of this issue,” Adel Faqih
said, quoted by local daily Al Riyadh on Thursday.
The minister however said that the health ministry has requested assistance from Saudi Arabia’s
oil giant Aramco and the defence ministry to expand the intensive care unit at King Abdullah
medical compound in Jeddah and deal with the growing challenges posed by the Middle East
Respiratory Syndrome that has so far killed 121 people in the kingdom.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) after a five-day mission to Jeddah pinpointed breaches in
its “recommended infection prevention and control measures” as being partly responsible for an
increase in infections in the Red Sea city. Two of the latest deaths reported late on Wednesday - of
a 65-year-old woman suffering from several illnesses and a 45-year-old woman - occurred in the
capital Riyadh. Both died on Tuesday.
In Jeddah, the commercial capital, a 70-year-old woman died on Monday and a 60-year-old man
died on Tuesday, the health authorities said. Among the 18 people newly infected is a 10-year-old
boy who was taken to a government hospital in Jeddah following an accident on April 29. After he
was discharged from the hospital on May 2, Mers symptoms began to appear and he was rushed
to intensive care.
